So far, this has been my impression, as well. 3.5 seems to be designed to address many of the minor issues I have with the system, and to provide a more fun experience. Things like slowing down combat, streamlining high-level play, and putting in many simple (and to me, elegant) fixes to the system. It will be a group decision with my players, but I sincerely doubt there will be any real resistance to it. The cost issue really isn't a big deal, to us.
