IA: A Teacher for Laynie

"Well, it's not that, though I'm glad to know I'm cleared," Vanitri says. "Does that mean you think it's more than just a suicide?"

"I think it was a suicide. Poor Gaark was struggling, but I thought he was just on the verge of really doing well...but maybe he didn't. The real kicker is Tammy Ferrous. A few people are connecting you with Tammy and Gaark, but actually Tammy left before you even came here--I think she actually ran away from school. Either way, she's alive and Gaark is dead. The fact that not everyone knows this and misses on the timing is what led to the rumour, and that's why it's obvious that you were clear. Now, it is possible that Gaark was the victim of foul play, but you were supposedly out to dinner with Kitty at the time, so again, you have a solid alibi. Plus, I know you, and I know you wouldn't do it. So it must have been a suicide."

"Me? Well, I'm flattered I guess that they think I could pull something like this off, but I wouldn't know where to begin. However, I'm not so certain that it was a suicide, and was wondering if you had tried any magical means to scry on Gaark or Tammy since they disapeared."

"Yes. Gaark didn't show up, surely because he is dead. Tammy, on the other hand, didn't want to be scryed, so we stopped trying, knowing that she was at least safe."

"Well basically with scrying, a caster can tell when someone resists it with a mental act of will, a personal act. And that is what happened when they tried to scry on Tammy."

"Yes. He wanted to keep in among her family members, but I told him if someone came looking around for Scrying that I would tell them so that they wouldn't go Scrying on her."
