IA: A Teacher for Laynie

*Laynie follows Vanitri nonchalantly, as if this were a matter of course, but Mearran looks a bit wary. As Vanitri walks into the mirror, he feels an unusual vertigo and disorientation, and the world seems to shimmer and swirl around him, until it simply...pops. With a flash of bright light, he finds himself in a large room with tables scattered with books and a few students of various ages chatting to each other, a few actually reading while talking. The room branches off into short hallways, and Elektra takes Vanitri and his friends down one of the hallways a short distance, showing them how it leads to a series of spacious suites, each of which houses approximately four students with plenty of room for more if necessary.*

"Here, I'll take you into Cherise Malbin's suite. She's my study-buddy from Advanced Potions, so she won't mind--hopefully she'll be in. You guys do want to see the inside of a suite, right?"

*Elektra knocks on one of the doors to the suites. Unlike some of the others that had been left open, this one is closed, but doesn't seem to be locked.*

"Hey, Cherise?" she pushes the door open slightly, "Cherise, are you in?"

*A slight half-elf girl looks up from her book, her thin-framed glasses sliding down her nose a bit.*

"Sorry Elektra--she's still at the library."

"Oh, thanks Miliana! We were actually just over there, but we must have missed her."

"Guys, this is Miliana Draenyst. She and Cherise are roommates. Miliana, these are Vanitri, Mearran, and Laynie. They're taking a tour of the campus. Do you mind if we take a look in your suite?"

"Not at all--oh, but it is such a mess," Miliana worries, though apart from a few open books on the tables and one on the floor near a big comfy chair, it seems pretty clean to Vanitri.

*After nodding her assent, the half-elf student goes back to her book.*

*The suite consists of a spacious common lounge area, a table and some desks, a mini-library area with bookshelves, a powder room, and four small bedrooms that are dominated by large double beds with big fluffy pillows.*

"I guess the architects knew that Mordrues tend to be introverts who might disappear from everyone for weeks in a good book, so they built the suites in such a way that by necessity all activity save sleeping is best conducted in the lounge rather than the smaller bedroom, so at least they will socialise with their suite-mates. Or at least that's my theory. Still, the beds are nice and big, eh? Let me know when you're ready to move on."

"Indeed, a big bed can come in quite handy. And there's plenty of room for several visitors as well. Not bad at all." Vanitri says, looking around. He stops and smiles to Miliana "You keep this place in excelent shape, thank you for letting me in."

*Elektra nods in agreement.*

*Miliana glances up from her book again and blushes slightly.*

"Oh no, I've kept it a mess here--if Cherise was back, she'd probably have tidied up more, but I always forget when I have time and then remember when I have to do something else. Actually, I should clean up now."

*She stands up and stetches out, yawning as she relaxes back down again with a slight bounce. Then she inserts a lace bookmark at her spot and puts the book down gently, almost lovingly, before heading over to clean up the stray texts.*

"Well, I don't think you do yourself justice, this is well kept. I would think not all rooms are this clean."

"How do they split the rooms? Do the men have separate sections? Or just a separate bedroom and share the common rooms with just anyone?"

"Oh, you're being too charitable, I think, Mr. Vanitri. If we don't have much of a mess here aside from books, it's because we don't throw wild parties here and Cherise is meticulous despite me."

"Don't be so hard on yourself, Miliana. I'll let you field Vanitri's question, since you're the resident resident, so to speak."

"Oh...okay. Well, the boys aren't split off into a completely different section like they are at Daryne, but they can't share suites with girls either. Basically, you'll see that there are a bunch of suites of the main halls...actually you probably already saw that. Anyway, any of those suites can be girls or boys--in fact, there's four guys right across the hall from us."

"That's about the size of it," Elektra agrees.

"Why, relishing a female roommate?" she raisea an eyebrow.

"I certaintly wouldn't object," He says with a smile and wink. "I'd have Laynie with me as well, so that might complicate things a bit."

"Yes, I suppose it would," Elektra replies, then adds with a wink, "Of course, if you lived here, you could always send her to the common area."

"I'll point out that children of either gender can live with either parent. Married couples are unusual for Mordrue students. I'm not sure how they would take care of that, but they would probably just let them be suitemates."

"Just don't let me catching you turning into a chauvinist pig like Rowan Aranah in his fourth year."

"Oh that. I actually wasn't here yet that year."

"She'd live in the library if she could. She's hardly said a word since she got the book."

"Anyway, it's been a pleasure miss Miliana, one I hope to repeat some time."

He turns to Elektra (Elayna?) "Shall we?"
