(OOC: The merchant points out that Wizards' spellbooks are generally of significant value to beginning Wizards and less so to stronger Wizards because the ink to scribe spells is expensive, and the more spells the book has that the Wizard doesn't know, the more money the Wizard saves. It isn't worth almost anything to non-Wizards, though. The merchant is again willing to pay 2,000 gold for it--that's the most he'll risk on any one item)

"Thank you my friend. I'll remember you next time I come accross anything."

Vanitri spends the evening talking to Laynie about magic and filling out the form to be as embellished yet truthful as possable.

*Most of it is routine, in fact, there's almost nothing on here that forces him to know things about magic that he doesn't know, but there are a few interesting questions that he has to answer.*

"With great power comes great responsibility. Why did you decide to study magic? What do you hope to accomplish with he power you will gain?"

"If you had to pick one reason why we should consider you for our Academy, what would it be? What makes you special?"

"No one is perfect. What would you say is your greatest weakness? Your greatest fear?"

(OOC: Feel free to just give a brief one sentence summary of how he answers)

#1: Vanitri will discuss how he wishes to help orphins, a particular one now, but perhaps later, help others as well.

#2: Vanitri will discuss his background and travels, suggesting that his greater world experience will help give him a different insight into magic that might help diversity the student body as well as provide a different perspective durring research.

#3: He will talk about perhaps he's a little too kind hearted, as it sometimes gets in the way of getting him side tracked from what he's supposed to be doing. His greatest fear is missing out on the world somehow

OOC: those are summaries.

"So, Laynie, why don't you tell me a little bit about the Elements of Magic book."

OOC: Vanitri will listen up a bit and ask a few questions. He won't keep her up too late though, and the next day, he'll set off to pay and setup an entrance exam time, as well as let the appropriate person know that Elektra was a good tour guide.

*Laynie tries to explain to Vanitri the basics of magic, but she's a bit difficult to understand, as she sometimes is.*

*The next morning, he submits the application, and they schedule him to begin his examination the following day. He looks around for someone to tell about Elektra and stumbles across Alden:*

"So, are you with the castrating bitch-queen now? Good luck, mate. You're going to need it," he says dismissively as he passes by.

*Eventually, Vanitri sees Layna Larinas off in the distance, who could conceivably be someone to tell, since she's a graduate student.*

Vanitri holds his tongue with Alden, reluctantly.

Vanitri will approach Layna "Layna, good to see you again. It's Vanitri from the other day. I'll be taking my entrance exams tomorow, but I wanted to pass on to someone that Elektra was most helpful with my tour."

"You had Lex for a tour guide? I'm glad she did well, though I'm a bit surprised she had the time. Did she tell you about any of her more interesting curses?"

"So, did you find out more about what you found? I see you're sporting a pretty necklace--people are going to be able to tell the make, so you're going to want to claim it belongs to your girl."

"So I guess you decided on my plan, then? Good luck on the exams. They can be tough, but the secret is perseverance. Never give up, and you'll probably do fine. Though the Academy only accepts about 25% of applicants, it accepts something like 60% of applicants who complete the examinations successfully."
