IA: A Teacher for Laynie

"Indeed Lady Lyrue. You are being used as a pawn to not only have your people slaughter my family, but to leave a powerful Talisman unguarded by your people. All to further a Nesfylim."

"Now, hold on, for this may be a bit disorienting."

OOC: Yup, thought about that, sounds good.

"I see...so we are headed back to the Freefolk camp then? I passed by there the other day. How long do we have left? I may be able to help get there faster..."

"They spoke of moving tonight, so idealy till dusk. If you can speed us up, that would help greatly. I'll not let the Nesfylim take another family of mine."

(OOC: Indeed. Also note, they also specifically stated that the attack would happen at nightfall)

"I can try. If I could manage to prepare new spells, I can load up on Haste and continually cast it to keep you running faster. My calculations indicate that this would increase a light riding horse's speed by 50%...But the camp is hour's away. Most would consider it a fair day's travel...even with the Haste enchantment, no mortal horse could make that run...perhaps not even a lunari..."

"While I am on her(Him?), Eirian will not tire. How long will it take you?"

Vanitri will push his popping power as he goes.

Just fifteen minutes. I've had significantly more than eight hours of rest, believe me. Just try to be gentle while I read--oh, and you'll have to hold onto me to make sure I don't fall, I suspect. After that, I'll be fine, and I'll be able to provide Eirian with some extra speed."

(OOC: Eirian begins at a canter in deference to Lady Lyrue's wishes, unless you tell her otherwise)

"Ease up there a bit Eirian. Let's make this as smooth as possable. Where are your people from there?"

Vanitri will hold on to Lady Lyrue, but contiue his Ddoor trick unless she asks him to stop.

(OOC: She seems to be fine with the DDoor trick, if a bit surprised.)

"I never knew lunari could do that," she half-whispers to herself as the Dimension Doors occur, "My people? I'm not sure which ones you mean. The people of Medibaria are all around this area, you know. Those poor farmers were my people too. But you said the ones you are looking for are going to attack the Freefolk, right, so they must be nearby."

*Her soft, warm form fits snugly in his arms, as she props her book open and begins to study as quickly as she can.*

Vanitri finds his mind straying occasionaly, but forces himself on task. Perhaps later she might show him how grateful she was, but the lives of the 'folk must come first.

"I'll keep an eye out for them. If we meet up with them first, you can speak with them."

Once she is done studying. "Do you know anything of a magical talisman?"

"There are many such talsimans. I'm not sure of which you may be speaking. Do you know the name of which talisman it is, or at least where it may be found?" Lady Lyrue straightens up a bit in the saddle, then thinks better of it and leans back into her rescuers muscled form, "You can go faster now, Eirian. In fact, I can help."

*She prepares to cast Haste whenever Eirian is feeling ready to go up to a gallop.*

(OOC: According to my calculations, DDoor did a lot of the heavy work (contributing roughly 33% of all speed) while she was memorising spells, and will be less important for the final stretch. At a full gallop with Haste and DDoor, you average to a speed of 645 feet per round, or roughly 73 miles per hour. Eirian isn't actually going quite that fast, but including the hops, that's how much distance you cover. Yowzers!)
