"Could be. I know it was someone I knew, but I awoke before I registered the face, and I don't recall it. Of course, it's possable there's some more personal meaning behind some of the Mage Queen stuff, but that's more of a guess than anything, and realy doesn't mean much."

"Hmm...it could be. We need to look into this."

"Truman, the histories say that the line died with Elayna Lyrue the Second. Vanitri is convinced that she survived past that point, but if it is true, there is no record, and thus no record of any continuation."

"Well drat...But if there is a connection to you, maybe more clues will surface around you?"

"Well, I'd not be supprised if I had a little of her blood in me," Vanitri says with a knowing grin. "Just a hunch though."

"So are you saying that you are the Heir who has returned, then? It did appear on the day you came here."

"As long as we ditch the theory about the Heir being the Dark Lord, then I'm not really confused right now. Otherwise, bloody hell! How can you be at two places at once?...Unless, do you think Lex?"

"Well let's hope not, since that would be really weird, and we wouldn't want to have to kill our new friend Vanitri."

"But the Heir would have to be female, correct? She was trying to establish a matriarchal line," Vanitri says. "And why am I the one who knows this, you've been studying it longer."

"Well, I'm the one who told you that, admittedly, and one would expect the Mage Queen to require such if she were still alive today. However, a pure direct descendance from mother to daughter all this time seems unlikely, though admittedly it is possible. Even one mother who failed to have anything but sons would end it--that's why patriarchal lines usually last longer, since one male can impregnate multiple females if necessary."

"Considering that the entire line was thought to no longer exist, I would think that at this point, anyone descended directly from Elayna Lyrue would call themselves an heir. I mean, it's closer than the whole 'Val' business with the surnames. Distant relatives trying to adopt their more famous line's fame. Posers I say!"

"Lex, you wouldn't just be saying that because you're a bit jealous of Kitty, would you?" Truman smiles rakishly, his one good eyebrow raising.

"Wh...How dare you! Of course not!" she replies incensed.

*When she sees him grinning at her, she sniffs and turns to Vanitri*

"Hmph, men," she says to him, shaking her head, as if perhaps he might agree with her despite the obvious incongruity of the situation.

"Don't look at me. According to your ex, you'll make me a Eunich anyway," Vanitri ways with a wink and a grin to let Lex know he's not serious.

"However, as I said, it's only a hunch, but it's possable, and if it is, I'm likely related to my namesake as well, the Duskrider. There's also another posibility that worries me a bit, but I'd rather not discuss at the moment," Vanitri says, nodding in Laynie's direction when she's not looking.
