IA: A Teacher for Laynie

"Hmm, so he wants to be a eunuch, does he? Well...that can be arranged--it is simpler than the curse I put on Rowan."

"Well, if you're the Heir, or the Heir is connected to you by blood, we could use your blood to gain power over the Heir. Of course, maybe the Heir and the Dark Lord are different. What if you are the Heir and the Heir is supposed to fight against the Dark Lord? Does that sound plausible?"

"That could be as well. We'd probably best do some research on the Dark Lord though, and if ya think you can divine anything with my blood, well, I guess I'll have to suffer."

"There are some who believe that blood gives power over a victim when casting a spell."

"I can try to look up references on any 'Dark Lords'. At least I know where not to look--if there were any obvious ones in the required readings, Lex would know already. It isn't much, but it's more than we had."

"Well, Tammy's gone and Alden is Tammy's brother, so maybe Alden is the Dark Lord..." Elektra suggests.

"Lex...be nice. He's still my roommate, and my friend," Truman chides

"Yeah, I know..." Elektra replies quietly.

"Well, we have some time I think, so let's see what we can pull up in the next few months. Besides, Laynie's always happy to head to the library."

[sblock=OT]FYI, depending on how things break down, Cade may end up retiring. He's at wit's end with not only his companions but his own sanity and purpose. Realy not sure, but he's fairly sure he doesn't want to adventure with most of the rest of that group again, Tandi and Thurgan being the two exceptions. (He understands why Tandi was upset, but she didn't use lethal force). It all depends on where he's at when you award XP, and what happens at Larue's place.[/sblock]

"Sure, that sounds like a good plan. We can all help. Of course, the term is winding down, so with final projects and final exams coming along, the more you can do, Vanitri, the better."

(OT: Yeah, I hope it isn't my fault *too* much. I've been in the position before of being the Good aligned character in a party of varyingly Evil characters who all claimed Neutral on their sheets where the GM wouldn't knock them down :( As to Anton shooting the guy twice, WTF!?! Shoot him once, and you can claim you weren't expecting it to kill him, but shoot him twice for lethal damage each time, and the killing intent is obvious  )

"I can do that. Don't want to distract you too much," Vanitri says.

Vanitri will spend some time researching the Dark Lord, as well as try to make the time to stop into the 2 headmistresses. He'll also see if he can do the occasional favor for Lex, like bring her food, help out with her studying, etc. He'll aslo see if he can get Laynie a few books on responsable use of magic.

OT: Not realy your fault, but this adventure seems not for Cade unfortunately. He feels honor bound to complete it, but it's honestly becoming not fun on my end due to the party squabling.

*Lex heads back into her room to study. As Vanitri heads to the library and looks up a few books to try to find books on responsible use of magic, he sees a few faces he recognises from before researching there. Notably, Lex is there. Researching a Dark Lord will be more difficult, as it would involve looking through numerous history texts.*

Once he finds a good book for Laynie, he'll start pouring through history books, most notably around the time of the Mage Queen and her Daughter.

OT: A little of both, but mostly the group. We need a spokeman, and no one does it. We have 2 players who hardly post, have had 2 players drop with no word, no mages equiped to help in the magic relm, and everyone is combat oriented. Just a realy bad mix, not even talking about the personalities, and then all this moraly ambigious stuff, some of these coincidences and conspiricies seem almost over the top at some point. Anyway, not realy sure. I want to try out the Outrider, and Cade is fun, but this is not the party for him.
