IA: Thurgan and Krug

*The orcs don't give away any signs that betray their presence, even after the dwarves wait for a while.*

Thurgan waited as long as he thought best. "Whelp, can' wait all day. Let's go quiet like and at an angle, see if we can't sneak up on them."

*Thurgan headed out at an angle toward the mountain the cave was in but at an angle to the mouth itself, hoping to come along side the entrance and approach from the sise of the mouth.*

*As Thurgan and Krug head towards the cave entrance at an angle, they manage to make it to the side of the mouth without any incident.*

*Thurgan silently reminded Krug to be quiet and follow, then crept toward the cave entrance, crossbow in hand. Thurgan wasn't much of a creeper, but he didn't want the critters to get too easy a chance at them.*

*As Thurgan and Krug creep in front of the mouth of the cave, they are attacked by an 'orcish trap'. A thrown javelin whirls through the air and strikes Krug squarely in the chest, though the dwarf manages to weather the blow. The offending orc is heard scurrying off somewhere in the darkness, beyond the range of the dwarves' Darkvision.*

"Gug..." says Krug, extracting the javelin. "An inch more to the left... and that would be one less Stormhammer in the world..."

*Thurgan dodged to the side as the javelin came toward them. He scanned the inside of the cave entrance, trying to determine if any other surprises were about, then moved into the darkness of the cave. He waited for his eyes to adjust to the new lighting before proceeding further.*

"Easy there, Krug," Thurgan offered, "I getcha healed once we got the inside of the cave covered. Keep an eye out for traps and stuff."

*There is a tunnel into the hillside that leads forward in darkness beyond the range of the dwarves' Darkvision, but they can nonetheless see a bend in the tunnel further along due to a torch that is placed at the turn.*

*Thurgan pulled out his wand and tapped Krug with it, hoping that application did the trick. After a quick healing for Krug, Thurgan took point heading toward the bend cautiously.*
