Carradoc is impressed with Lizzie's candour, and listens to the conversation, even if he does snicker at "nogoodnik". "Why don't you take us to him?" he asks.

He knows they'll need to rest eventually (his spells are low), and Lizzie needs to be kept under observation, but for now, he's willing to let her lead.

Thaliss intervenes on Carradoc's comment "Agreed. Let us go to him, but let us rest first. We are battle weary and I too want to catch my breath."

OOC: ok for short rest? If so, Thaliss will chat will Lizzie, trying to get to know a bit more about her and what she is doing here

OOC: Short rest is easily doable.

"I grew up in the north, Ten Towns. Too cold up there. Started heading south, got invited to a party at the old tower, they liked my habits... at least when it's directed at someone else."

OOC: With short Rest, Carradoc will use Arcane Recovery
Spend 2 dice [roll0], and Use Inspiring leader.

Which will mean:
Currently: HP 44+10, AC 17; spells 1/1/3
and everyone allied gets 10 temporary hp.

Oh, I guess Lyzzie also took damage and will try to recover some. Other people get hit dice right?

Miles recovers what he can with some stoic grim expression.

When everyone has rested, you make your way north from the barracks towards a crossroads.

The fire mage seems almost giddy with the prospect of murdering her comrade.

The chamber on the left is unlit.

At the end of the hall is a circular room that is cooler than the rest of the complex. A pool of water fills the room's center. The water's surface, as smooth as glass, comes to a foot below the surrounding floor.

To the north, a bridge over a lava chasm.

A stone bridge stretches across a hot, hazy chasm lit by a river of lava forty feet below. The roof of the chasm hangs fifty feet above the bridge.

Lyzzie assures you that, "The bridge is safe. It's also the most direct path to Bastian's quarters. The guards at the foundry will probably be able to see us though. They may be a bit suspicious of you, me, everything and attack. The other options are to go all the way around, or straight through the foundry."

"A word?" Maighan asks, trying without great success to contain her irritation.

"We're not ready to assault another temple, inside help or not. We were in the process of withdrawing before we were led here. I suggest we complete that process, then return."

(OOC - A short rest isn't going to help me a lot. I'm nearly out of spells.)
