D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Princes of Elemental Evil

"So we're just barging in here? Great plan..." Damien shrugged and called to hand his pact weapon in the form of a short rapier. He left a hand free to cast spells as needed for now.

Aridha takes a position just behind Tolan and Dent, and nods with some satisfaction on seeing the thick haze.

"The fog will make it easier for us to move unseen. This is a perfect time to strike, before the sun burns it away."

Dent opens the rear door to the chapel.

The keep's chapel contains plain wooden pews facing a large altar at the west end ofthe room. No idol hints at what deity is venerated here. A crude symbol is painted on the wall above the altar, resembling an X with a horizontal bar linking the bottom limbs. Several straw pallets lie near the chapel door.

Two of these straw pallets are occupied with strangely tattooed men. They look like the Reavers you've seen before.

Look in over the knight's shoulder, Tolan squeezes past him and creeps into room. He tries to avoid waking the Reavers as he tries to get into position over the further of the two occupied pallets. As he moves, he keeps an eye out for the promised priest.

Damien gave a twisted smile. "Looks like a job for the sneak thieves." Whispering words of magical power, the warlock placed a hex on the closer of the two guards, drew his dagger and moved next to the pallet as quietly as possible. He only had eyes for the sleeping Reaver.

OOC: Action: Cast Hex on the nearest of the two Reavers (Disadvantage: Wisdom).
Interaction: Draw dagger
Move (Quietly): [roll0]

Looks like the dice have decided that Damien is terrible at moving quietly this morning. Hopefully the disadvantage on the Reaver's Wisdom checks will help him not hear.

Tolan winces slight as Damien's footsteps echo behind him. But the noise doesn't seem to penetrate the slumber of their targets. Once he is in position, he turns to face back, and lines up his blade, gripping it tightly in his hands. When both are ready, he catches Damien's eye and nods sharply. Then he strikes.

Damien gives Tolan an enthusiastic thumb's up and strikes!

OOC: Not sure what our clever DM has come up with, so I'm going to hold off on rolling initiative/attacks. They're probably minor illusions for all the shrubs and walls Thaliss has been throwing up... LOL

The two reaver's die, but not silently. They certainly don't make a lot of noise, but they can be heard struggling with their last bit of strength.

There are signs that a third mat of straw was recently used here. There are no books or tomes or other objects of worship that stick out.

Those of you outside can hear the water lapping up against the shore just out of sight. The noises from inside the chapel are audible, but it blends in with the ambient noise. Crickets and other insects chirp and chitter all around outside the keep. The fog is very dense. It has a cloying scent to it that sticks inside the mouth and nose.

Damien jerked his head to bring in the rest of the party while he searched through the Reaver's belongings, if he had any. "We took care of this lot, but no priest. For now, should we head to the bugbears next?"

With the heavy fog, the warlock took a moment to simply listen, to see if he could hear any sounds of movement other than what the party itself was making. Where is that priest?

YES? Where is that priest? That last soul was of low-quality evil content. I need another.

OOC: Perception = [roll0]
