D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Princes of Elemental Evil

The priest has a simple quarterstaff, his robes, and a chain shirt.

The reavers have their crab-shields and shark-toothed swords, as well as 3 javelins between them.

The bandits were armed with light crossbows and shortswords, as well as leather armor.

Their rowboats had provisions for 8 people for 1 day, including fresh water.

With his free hand, Damien grabbed the ruffian's wrist, his dark rapier hovering near the man's eyes. "These hands are not the hands of a laborer. What are you really doing at the Keep? Out with it, man!"

OOC: Not really sure what that is, probably Intimidation. Here's a D20 w/CHA applied.

Doesn't look like he's too scared there... :(

"These hands are not the hands of a laborer. What are you really doing at the Keep? Out with it, man!"

Thallis walks slowly towards the group, content that he wasn't targeted during this fight. Calmly but seriously, he verbally says looking at the thug directly in the eyes"Tom, you better tell the truth. These guys are not as nice as I am. Also tell us how many of these priests are at the Keep, and how many others there are".

He then nonchalantly moves about the dead bodies, removing a leather armor that seems to fit him, and takes the nicest looking reaver sword with the corresponding scabbard as well as a crossbow with ammunition. As he is doing so, he tells his companions telepathically I look too much like a magic user, this is probably why I was targeted by the flying riders. Unless you object, I will don these to look more combative

OOC: Persuasion roll for Tom

"Sorry Thallis. I'm not in a good mood. I know the situation. Drosnin is the only priest that should be left at the keep. They had three o'dem Bugbear's in the north tower on the water-side. There are two more blue 'megs. Reash keeps the south water-side tower and Urshnora is always with ol' Jolly. Most others come and go. I guess old Holger keeps the main gate."

Tolan leaves the ongoing discussion with Tom to the others and helps out picking over the bodies. He picks up one of the Crab shields himself and after a moment's consideration, picks up the second shark blade and poses with it for a moment.

"What do you think? Could I be one of these warriors?"

He gives a wry grin looking down at himself.

"Maybe not."

He returns the shark blade to the pile, but keeps the shield, rapping his knuckles against it thoughtfully.

OOC: Yeah, so now that I have my shield, my AC will fluctuate as I switch between bow/two-handing and sword 'n' board. I'll try to always keep it explicit what I've got in my hands and the resultant stats.

Carradoc looks at the robes carefully, but in the end decides there's nothing for him here, unless the robes are a really nice fabric. He wanders back to the captive.

"Fine..." Damien said theatrically, "we'll do this the nice way. OK, Tom," he said emphasizing the man's name, "who exactly was looking for Shoalar?"

The warlock started scheming, imagining the possibility of infiltrating the keep by pretending to be Shoalar and some of his crew with captives.

"I told you, the 'meggin priests. The priests 'megged us into a boat. He started talking like all the priests do about prophets and rituals and visions. I guess he said the prophet had seen a vision of Shoalar's death and a new enemy. I didn't know what to make of it, I don't believe in these visions, but I guess it comes true. You killed Shoalar, didn't you? Not that he didn't deserve it. 'Megging water wizard. I guess you're that new enemy they're so worried about. He said there was great evil at work."

"He said there was great evil at work."

RECOGNITION!!! Keep this one alive for now, Damien.

"Fine, so the priests were looking for him." Ignoring the man's question about the water genasi's ultimate fate, Damien asked, "So, if Shoalar were to show up at the Keep, who should he go see? This Drosnin fellow?"
