Benny takes the vials of holy water. "I'll need these for spells" he tells the others.
As they go west, Benny pauses and sends Max to scout the north west corridor. His eyes momentarily go blank as he surveys what Max sees, and he reports to the others.

CONCENTRATING

Anson picks up the flare sticks, and moves along, wishing that Benny wouldn't run ahead. The child is competent, clearly, but he disappears in the shadows quickly. He passes Stratus, providing cover for the stone tomb, and he assumes that like him Stratus is seeking to avoid trouble if he can. "Thank you. I appreciate your care," he says in passing, clasping him by the upper arm as he does so.

Anson moves to catch up to Benny.

OOC: Guidance cast on Stratus (+1d4 to a skill check in the next minute, if needed).

Caer nods at Stratus.

I will ready the Blackstaff for what is in the room, whilst the lever is operated.

Caer's monstrous form draws its shadows close as the runes on the Blackstaff throb with power and move up and down its length in a sinuous fashion.

OOC:
Caer readies the Blackstaff and moves next to the door, waiting for someone to hit the button lever.

Stratus advances to the coffin but it's sealed and there doesn't seem to be any sounds of movement inside.

Max flutters ahead, scouting the area.

The corridor opens up to a large chamber with the look of a chapel. Its arched ceiling rises to a height of thirty feet, and magical light shines from the north, next to another brazier. The southwest corner of the chamber holds seven plain sarcophagi with wooden coffins stacked between them, many of those rotten and broken open. A large support pillar has a statue of Wee Jas next to it, the runes upon it are indecipherable as parts of it are broken off. Bones are scattered everywhere. Max sees at least 4 animated skeletons lurking in the Western part of the room by the coffins.

Stratus held the coffin-lid down with all his weight for a moment or two before concluding that there was either no undead inside, or it was too weak to lift the lid. He let go when Max reported skeletons ahead. He spoke in hushed tones, declaring, Let us take care of them before we open any more doors! Havok, would you like the honor of leading the charge?"

Deirdre nodded at the giant-kin's suggestion. "I will join Havok to strike the undead. Anson will need Caer and your strong arm to protect and assist him while he works." She then drew her sword and raised her shield as she positioned herself next to the dwarf and waited for him to lead the charge.

"How about I show myself and take the attacks while you ready attacks as they come in sight...or reach...depending. " Havoc offers
"It might hurt a bit, but if you're all ready it might not be that bad."
He is already moving forward counting on either charge of all or readying of all. He needs to be in front in both cases, one not to be outran and the other to take attacks
OOC: dodge action if everyone readies to attack the enemies, with parry for those that manage to get to him

With a plan, the group enters the room. The noise raises the attention of the skeletons there and they begin to move towards you but more skeletons come from around the corner. Eight in total.

Are you waiting for them to rush in and attack Havoc? I'll let you guys decide. All skellies are numbered.

Lets number the coffins too. #1 is the first at 6 o'clock. Go counter clockwise, with the last one being eight (by skelly 8). That way it's easier for you guys to tell me where you're going.

"We must move to the brazier, suggested Stratus, who was happy to help to light it, "They will follow, and we can get it burning - I expect that its light will burn them like the other one's did!

OOC: If everyone is keen on that plan, Stratus will take the second set of strikers from Anson, and will move to the square with the 8 in it, (he has a 35ft speed), careful to avoid provoking OAs.
