ROUND 1

Caer moves to get a better vantage point on the new enemy, and attempts to grasp it with and draw it forth with the tendrils and thorns of the Garroting Deep.

But something, whether it is Caer's lack of a good view, or perhaps some slight hesitation on Caer's part to use the power of the Deep on a woodland creature, prevents the sinewy vines from grasping the arachnid.

OOC:
(HM 30)

Move NE NE

Thorn: 1D20+5 = [4]+5 = 9

Oh well. Tried to thornwhip the spider to move him into center of combat. Failed.

@Neurotic If you roll well for initiative, I'll let you go first. Otherwise,

OOC: Yeah, nah! :)

"Gah! Get off beastie!"
Dwarf parries the attack, but is only partially successful, deflecting the mandibles from his neck, but still taking the bite. He wraps his arms around the big creature and holds it in place both blocking other spiders from swarming them and enabling his companions to send it to its ancestors.

Once he established the hold, he squeezes...hard.

Seeing Havok engage with something black and hairy, Deirdre stepped up behind him. She was tempted to burn the webs with conjured fire, but seeing Havok was now fully grappling a large spider, she resisted, and called upon the power of Corellon's radiance instead.

OOC: I take it that burning the web with fire bolt would now affect Havok too. Deirdre casts Sacred Flame.
Sacred Flame (radiant damage, DC 13 Dex Save): 1D8 = [7] = 7

The sudden appearance of the spide startles Anson, who releases the leven and instinctively fires a razor sharp blast at the new opponent, right next to him. Again, it is not his usual flame, he notices -- it is thinner, dimmer, and more precise. The first shot goes wild, but a second shot lands home.

OOC: First attack with psychic blade: 1d20+5=7. Miss.
Second attack, wiht advantage (vex): 1d20+5 adv = 22. HIT. 1d4+2d6+3=10 psychic damage.

Benny moves forward to see the spider and attacks its mind.

OOC: move: to have line of signe
action: cast mind sliver, Int save DC 13 or 4 psychic damage and spider subtracts 1 from the next save it rols before the end of the next turn

dex save vs sacred flame spider: 1D20+3 = [16]+3 = 19

INT save vs Benny's spell, spider: 1D20-4 = [7]-4 = 3

After the damage from Anson and Havoc, even though it saved against sacred flame, It's dead!
Ew, gross! Spiders!

Havoc feels the spiny hairs on the creature as he attempts to twist its head off. Even being held, it's able to dodge the sacred flame. Unfortunately for it, its weak intellect makes it an easy target for psychic damage and the thing, even though it seems hardly physically injured, stops moving, its 8 beady eyes staring blankly at nothing.

But Havoc feels the webs move, almost on a breeze, and two more monstrously sized arachnids join the fray. Both of them biting down at the exposed dwarf but their dead ally gets in the way, they continue up the walls, above the door making it difficult to see them.

two more spiders!
attack, damage, poison: 1D20+5 = [9]+5 = 14
1D4+3 = [2]+3 = 5
2D4 = [1, 1] = 2
1D20+5 = [6]+5 = 11
1D4+3 = [3]+3 = 6
2D4 = [2, 2] = 4

Both miss
They can climb so I'm giving them 3/4 cover. Between the webs and the door and being able to attack while on the closest wall makes them a hard target.

Anson again fires two thin stilettos of light into the oncoming beasts. The first hits the lintel of the door, its tiny length coiling and spinning as it seeks an outlet in apparent frustration. The second smaller hits one of the oncoming spiders straight in the forehead, however. disappearing straight into its brain.

His turns, saffron cloak billowing, as he gets out of the way of his colleagues, and steps into the neighbouring doorway, in case something should suddenly approach from that direction.

OOC: First blade: 1d20+5=12 miss. Second blade: 1d20+5 (adv)=24 (hit) for 1d4+2d6+3=16 psychic damage.
Move south into second open doorway.
Also, though it's not been said, the Guidance on Stratus is no longer active.

Havoc scrambles back "One more inside! At least!"
He gets up, raising one arm to protect himself and the bunches his leg under him before launching himself bodily into the spider crunching it against the wall.
"No more inside!"
he adds after landing covered in goo.

OOC: If the spider is out of reach, ready action, same consequence :)
