Benny was about to try lighting the brasier but nods at Anson when he sees that this won’t be necessary. He focuses his attention onto the zombie annd attacks its mind.

Havoc steps next to Stratus on the other side of Deirdre and grabs at the monster, trying to prevent it from going after the others. He grabs at the thing, but piece of skin he grabbed simply sloughs off, remaining as greasy stain on his gauntlet.

Pulling leaves him a bit off balance, not his best work at all. These deadbeats are worse than drunken sailor after night in the greasiest den on the docks.

OOC: what a terrible set of rolls

@Steve Gorak it failed its save. Badly. Its total was 0. So it’s -1 to saves.

The firelight washes over everyone and bolsters the groups morale as the zombie warrior begins to burn.

The monster attacks. And misses. Again. It seems it can’t get a good hold on its claymore as it tries to decapitate Deidre.

Oh well. It misses. I kind of wish it would roll higher than a 10.

Not that I’m not rooting for you guys but it would be nice if this whole combat wasn’t a total blow out.

Attack Deidre : 1D20+6 = [7]+6 = 13
2D8+4 = [6, 2]+4 = 12

Fire damage: 3D6 = [5, 3, 3] = 11

START ROUND 2

AC:10
HP 48
Trip saving throw bonus (con?): +4

ROUND 2 (and 1)

Caer internally berates himself. You have become soft with trappings of civilization, thinking that strange noises could be anything but danger. As the abominable manifestation of reanimation closes on the group, Caer gathers the shadows around him and strikes powerfully with the Blackstaff, feeling it sink into its flesh. Quickly, he raises the Blackstaff again, and with the eldritch runes of the Raven pulsing along the obsidian wood, he quickly and expertly shifts it to a powerful horizontal strike, hitting the unnatural flesh solidly in the side, and feeling the crunch of shattered ribs.

That would fell any man, but this is not a man.

OOC:
(HM 30)
Bonus Action R1- Target Zombie
Action R1- Attack Zombie
Action R2- Attack Zombie
Move as needed to melee

Swing: 1D20+5 = [17]+5 = 22

Swing (Rd2): 1D20+5 = [19]+5 = 24

Damage (Both Rounds): 1D8+5+1D6 = [8]+5+[3] = 16
1D8+5+1D6 = [4]+5+[3] = 12

28 Damage
Prior post you noted con was +4, so-
Topple (DC 13, Both Rounds): 1D20+4 = [11]+4 = 15
1D20+4 = [16]+4 = 20

Not toppled. Never toppled. All my opponents are weeble wobbles.

Deirdre dodged the undead's clumsy swing and again tried to hack at it. This time however, her grip on her sword slipped. She grunted in frustration as the flat of her blade slid harmlessly off the unrelenting foul flesh.

OOC: Deirdre attacks with True Strike.
True Strike with longsword, radiant damage: 1D20+5 = [3]+5 = 8
1D8+3 = [3]+3 = 6
Wow. Maybe Deirdre should just go sit next to the brazier and roast some marshmallows with Anson.

Benny wishes he had a more powerful attack against enemies. Regardless, he focuses his mind against the zombie and attacks its mind again.

OOC: move: none
action: cast mind sliver, Int save DC 13 (note that the zombie has -1 to its save from last casting) or 4 psychic damage and zombie subtracts 4 from the next save it rols before the end of the next turn

Undeterred, Stratus brought his sword down on the creature once more, hoping to overwhelm it with blows. He held his shield ready, to ward off its attacks on himself or his neighbours.

OOC: He'll hit AC 19 for 9 Slashing, and if it attacks anyone next to him, he'll Intercept 9 damage.

The braizer springs to life, illuminating Anson in its warm and healthful glow. From his position on the dais, Anson turns and sees his friends in battle. A dagger of icy flame bursts from his fist and strokes the creature.

OOC: 1 psychic blade, with Sneak attack (allies). 1d20+5=24. HIT. Damage=3d6+4=11 psychic.

It fails its INT save by getting a -4 to it's save.

The zombie is tough but it's slow and gets battered with attack after attack and, with a final psychic blast, it falls to the ground unmoving. All is quiet.

Where to next. The only place you have yet to explore is down the newly opened passage.

This thing was tough and was supposed to hit hard but it really wasn't much of a threat to you guys.
Combat over.

Where to next?
