Benny watches in horror as the zombies approach and attack all these innocents. He signals for the children to hurry up and focuses a beam of arcane energy at the closest standing zombie threatening a peasant.

Maximilian helps finishing off the remaining zombie impeding the path to safety.

The Zombie drops to the ground, a giant hole in its chest.

Both Benny and Havoc clear the gate. Havoc lays his patient down next to a monk who is trying to push the massive door shut.

The way through the gates is open but now the horde closes on the helpless crowd as they try to flee. They are on the verge of panicking, bigger people pushing smaller ones forward, running them over as they push towards the gates. No matter what, people in the back will be cut down unless someone holds them off.

You see the Unholy remains of the priest stand and hover above the two knights and shoot a green ray from its finger, killing one man instantly. The last knight, much younger than the rest, looks back to flee but two zombies are cutting off his escape.

What do you do?

Benny can clear the gate.

So can Havoc with his helpless casualty

@Kobold Stew I feel like Anson should make another attempt to keep the crowd from losing control. Otherwise people panic and start trampling others. DC 13 use an appropriate social skill/stat.

No matter what happens, the last people will get cut down by zombies unless you hold them off.

There’s also a chance to save the last Knight if you want but he’s preoccupying the Undead Priest.

You can all just choose to clear the gate if you want

As Anson leads as many as he can towards theshutting gates, he becomes frustrated at the stragglers. "If you don't go to that gate right, I'm going to kill you myself!" he threatens. His face is red, his fist is blazing, his saffron cloak adds to his stature and his size. "Move! Now!"

OOC: Intimidation: 1d20+4=21. woo hoo.

Seeing that the way forward was now clear, Deirdre turned to encourage the crowd through the gates. That's when she spotted a lone squire trying to hold off the undead priest, with two zombies at his back.

Deirdre strode back through the crowd while pulling a flask of holy water from her belt. "Come to the gate!" she yelled while throwing the flask at the back of one of the zombies.

OOC: Deirdre moved back through the crowd a little bit so she can get a clear shot at one of the zombies surrounding the squire (she needs to be within 20 feet of it). She then throws her vial of holy water at it. The zombie must make a DC 10 Dexterity save or take 2d8 radiant damage. Your call if the save is at disadvantage if it's unaware of the attack.
Holy water damage (radiant): 2D8 = [2, 8] = 10

Stratus liked what Deirdre was thinking, and he too threw a flask of holy water that he'd acquired from one of the priests during the long procession. Only, instead of flinging it at a Zombie, he hurled it toward the creature that had once been the body of the High Priest.

OOC: Same as above. DC 10 DEX Save or 2d8 Radiant.

Anson: Intimidation succeeds
Stratus: Levinshire fails his save and takes 7 damage
Zombie: despite having disadvantage from Max, makes its save and takes no damage

Before I post again for the next round, I'm going to wait for @Snarf Zagyg to post as they didn't post yesterday. I also am going to try to get a better map up.

Once snarf posts, I'll post again and then everyone else(including snarf) can post their next action.

Summary:
  • Benny and Havoc are inside the gates
  • Caer, Deidre and Stratus, having just dealt with the zombies are at the head of the group. They could choose to retreat into the gates any time.
  • Anson is in the centre of the group, leading them towards the gates.

Two undead prevent a knight from retreating but he's also holding off the corpse of Levenshire.
The rest of the Undead are rushing towards the group (who will make it through the gates this next turn but the last stragglers will get eaten unless someone chooses to defend the gate as people pass through.)

Havok dashes back toward the young knight. The peasants...it will be bad if they die...but right now they need warriors more.
OOC: I don't think I can get to one of the zombies in a single move - at least 3 diagonals there.
