(IC) Dog Days of Doom!

Benny notices her reluctance to open the cabinet, and his street smarts kick in "You know, there are a lot of zombies out there, and we're the only ones going to light the beacon. It's the city's, and the survivor's, only chance to survive. If you have anything that can help us, I recommend you bring it forward. We can return them after."

“While I understand a need to help, unless one of you is a wizard, I don’t think it will be helpful for you. It’s a valuable spellbook and a scroll that only a wizard can use. If you don’t make it to the Beacon, I may need to study it myself and try to learn some of the spells inside. Losing it would be catastrophic. With most of my most expensive components leaving with you, I can’t even recast the warding glyph on the door.

I’m hoping the scrolls I gave you will suffice. If you want me to come along, I could help but it means leaving these two undefended. I am a spellcaster but I’d rather we all go together if that’s the best course of action. ”

OOC:
7 isn’t good enough.

Even with advantage, unless you can provide a specific context where you will use it, she won’t give it up. Giving it up and not being able to use it in a situation you might die and lose it is too risky. You already cleaned out all her most valuable spell components

HOLY HAMMER

Over the rotting morass of armor and flesh, Caer sees Stratus burst into the room and give a solid thump to its backside. Caer fends off another blow with the boneshield and narrows his eyes at the monstrosity and hisses....

Seems the odds aren't as bad now.

Feeling the power in the Blackstaff, Caer expertly pivots with it, landing another massive strike to the creature's side.

OOC:
Swing: 1D20+5 = [14]+5 = 19

Damage: 1D8+5+1D6 = [6]+5+[3] = 14

14 damage + DC 13 con save to avoid prone

Deirdre raised her eyebrow at the purveyor's comment on how old she assumed everyone was but said nothing. Her neck still ached but at least the bleeding stopped.

Nodding at Anson, she added, "Yes, thank you for everything you have done to help us." Then, tuning to Benny, "Time to go." She then moved to the door with her sword drawn and cracked it open, waiting for an opportune time to exit.

OOC: Deirdre does not have any immediate needs for spell materials with costs - but could once she reaches third level.
Perception check to check for zombies before leaving: 1D20+5 = [8]+5 = 13

Combat Round 4 over.

I it rolled a crit and a 14 (because disadvantage - I wasn't sure if that would hit anyone's AC so I rolled and it was Stratus and it missed.)

It got a 13 on its save to be tripped (con is its best save)

Start Combat round 5:
Carson: HP: 13; AC: 13

Neurotic, it's your attack, feel free to attack twice - once for round 4 and once for round 5.

Huge Combat for multiple rounds outside an open door:
Perception vs DC 11 for Zombies out in Marketplace:
perception: 1D20+0 = [19]+0 = 19

for...no...particular reason... 1D8 = [2] = 2

Hit after hit, the creature roars in fury, wanting flesh, it reaches out for Stratus with what looked like it would be a blow that would crush any person but with it was knocked off balance by Stratus' attack and its fist pounds into the floor, breaking floorboards. Using its foward momentum, Caer tries to knock it prone but it stabs its longsword into the wood and uses it as support. It turns in, infuriated.

"Cures and Curiosities is in a street-side building at the East (west on this map) side of the market. It has a bubbling potion sign hanging over the door. Good luck."

At that, the three companions go out into the street. Where do you go? Rendez-Vous with the others or go straight to the Cures and Curiosities?

Anson Willoughby
AC 15
HP: 12/15
Passive Perception: 12
HD: 2/2
Heroic Insp: 1/1

Anson leads the group towards the cures and curiosities shop, trusting that there could be bery much of benefit there to help the larger group.

He is very quiet as he does so.

OOC: Stealth vs DC 10: 1d20+5=21.

OOC: Havoc dashed last round as per your post, I didn't attack. But if I can...

Havoc rushed after Stratus and used the temporary imbalance of the opponent to crush its elbow plate. The other arm swings, but as the monster pushes back against the sword, it pulls just out of reach. Incredibly, old dwarf keeps going into the swing slamming his armored shoulder into the hulk and pushing with his whole might, crashing both into the table and crushing the body inside the armor between tables edge and his own hard shoulder.

He bounces off, low on his feet, ready to jump away if needed to open space for his companions.

OOC: total of 21 damage, but zombies can survive extra damage :(
