D&D 5E [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

OOC: @SunGold [MENTION=6801331]DMAesh[/MENTION] Surana and Ezraen are up

Edit: The attack on Derendil by the quippers did not have advantage. But it was still a hit. Attacks by creatures without a swim speed in water have disadvantage (I was thinking it was the other way around)

OOC: Ok, sorry for what a durn mess this post is. Like Aesh, I forgot about the second set of NPCs, so I made these rolls earlier today, thinking I was up...meaning I had to roll Bless separately this evening.

Main-hand attack: 1D20+6 = [4]+6 = 10 13 with Bless
Main-hand attack - advantage: 1D20+6 = [3]+6 = 9 12 with Bless
Main-hand damage: 1D8+4 = [2]+4 = 6

Off-hand attack: 1D20+6 = [12]+6 = 18 22 with Bless
Off-hand attack - advantage: 1D20+6 = [17]+6 = 23 27 with Bless
Off-hand damage: 1D6 = [3] = 3

Bless: 1D4 = [3] = 3
1D4 = [4] = 4

Edit: Initially posted the main-hand damage twice. Fixed.

OOC: Will it take an action to help Derendil back into the boat? If so, I will help him out of the water. If not...

Ezraen slings another stone at the creature!

[roll0]
[roll1]

Then the paladin rushes to the edge of the boat, reaching to help Derendil out of the water, Derendil! Take my hand!

If necessary:
[roll2]

OOC:
You would use the Help action to give him adv on getting out of the water. So no attack if you are going to help him.

His Athletics is +5 and it's a DC 10...and he's blessed.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using EN World mobile app

OOC: Okay. Bless will not help him in this case, because that is an ability check, (attack rolls and saves only for bless) hopefully, his strength will be enough. I will proceed with the attack, grimacing at the amount of blood in the water.

Bertram takes a shot that the creature's bulbous body...

crossbow [roll0]
adv [roll1]
damage [roll2]

Another hit. The things is bleeding badly.

All the blood in the water and the presence of Derendil has the quippers in a frenzy. The swarm in on the quaggoth...

Swarm attack [roll0]
adv (blood frenzy - adv on attacks against creatures with less than max hp)
[roll1]
damage [roll2]

OOC: The swarm had readied to attack anything that fell in the water. Its turn is on 13

Edit...wow...that's fortunate!

They bite and tear at Derendil but his think hide seems to protect him.

Derendil roars in anger but then has a moment of lucidity and realizes his survival depends on getting out of the water.

Athletics check (DC 10) [roll0]

...but unfortunately he slips back into the water...

Eldeth attempts to squirm free for the creature's grasp:

Escape (DC 15) [roll0]

With a great effort she wriggles free of the thing's grasp and drops into the water! She swims over to the boat to begin pulling herself out (next round she can attempt it).
