Hah! I just spent the afternoon out beer-tasting; that clip was the perfect thing to come home to. From the yellow speedo (a crime against people with eyes) to "I don't believe in oil slicks, man," everything about that was funny.
I have two swords, yeah, but I didn't think you'd let me fire off an attack this round in addition to getting Drum off me. Getting him untied and to (relative) safety was my first priority both for his safety (highly relevant but NSFW link ahead, although in this case, only for the blog URL/title: first essay perfectly describes yours truly, for I am a tool) and my fighting ability (assumed you'd impose a dex penalty for fighting with him tied to my back).
Seeing the ooze-y slick moving toward Erevan, the half-drow fishes a sling stone out of a pouch and whips it at the slick!

OOC:
Orsik calling a sacred flame would be nice! Vicious mockery may not work because of the language barrier, though I do not know how Drum's telepathy would work with it, since the ooze apparently can speak though the little sprout.
The stone hits the oily slick and makes a crater in it. The whole thing ripples as if in pain but continues coming on and the evil voice continues in your head. Briefly the stone rests in the crater but suddenly starts to bubble and give off smoke before being absorbed into the creature. Jimjar exclaims "Stay your weapons if you value them! Some things around here can eat metal and stone!")
(I'll play through the NPC and monster turns in a bit if I get a chance)
well there is nothing in Viscious mockery that says the thing needs to understand the caster....just "hear" him, so...
Klep sees Erevan is distracted and splashes over towards the rogue, shouting invectives at the slime...
Wisdom vs DC 12

Orsik steps back toward the shore (the pool is difficult terrain so he doesn't get all the way there), holds up his holy symbol..."Moradin, illuminate this wretched creature!"
There is something wrong with the roller...I had typed one roll, then pressed advanced. I think that is the same result twice (it's the sacred flame save and damage roll). I'm rolling the Vicious Mockery save and damage again
Undeterred the ooze keeps surging toward the dwarf cleric as he stumbles through the dark water away from it. It rises like a black tide on some sunless alien shore...
Attack vs AC 12

OOC:
editted....the gray ooze attacked Orsik, not Erevan
Orsik is engulfed and screams as he is being dragged under. "Master! A sacrifice for you!!!"
OOC:
Orsik is at 0 hp and is dying.
Derendil and Eldeth grab hold of him and drag him away from the thing. They just barely get him to the edge of the pool.
OOC:
Editted: Orsik is dying, not Erevan. Erevan still has 5 hp. The gray ooze pursued Orsik toward the shore and lashed out at him. JustinCase, you are up.
CRAP. my mistake. I had rolled it was attacking Orsik. not Erevan...I don't know why i had it attack him. Let me correct those couple of posts...
Edit: Okay...fixed. Sorry about that. I don't know why I got it in my head that Erevan was going to be the target. I had rolled for a random target and it was Orsik. There was no reason to change that so I wanted to stick with it. Orsik is dying but dragged safely up on shore. He'll make a death save on his next turn.
Phew, Erevan dodged a bullet there... Although the Character Tracking thread lists him with 0 hp. I am Schrödinger's elf!
Being warned by his allies attacking the pool, or rather, the elf now sees, some formless thing in the pool, Erevan moves out of the pool as quickly as he can. "Everybody get out of the water! If weapons are no use against this thing, we'd better run!"
Well, we can still hurt it, just not with weapons we want to keep using.
Also, RG still has me at 12hp.
Knowing many in the group have been injured during their escape, Surana attempts to draw the creature's ire. "Hey, Underdark trash," she snarls as she draws and loads her hand crossbow. The next part she speaks telepathically, wanting to make sure she's understood. " your faceless lord."
