D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

Ez claps the elf on the back with the hug and flashes a smile which fades quickly, "I felt horrible, but we truly thought that you were gone. YukYuk... or was it Spiderbait? Whichever, he just threw us the grease and we had to keep moving, or we would have been playing exterminator until all of us were dead."

The half-drow shakes his head, "I just couldn't lose any more of you. I just couldn't. And we still lost the half-orc, Klep. It just about destroyed me. Our numbers dwindle every day."

"I thought I was doomed, falling to my death. But there was another web, far below. YukYuk and Spiderbait found me there, rescuing me. Before they... they..."

The elf looks shaken. After a moment, he whispers, "Darn goblin. "

Erevan hesitates. Then his hand touches the shoes around his neck and he says, "YukYuk is dead. Murdered by Spiderbait in front of my eyes. I knew they shouldn't have trusted that goblin. Who sells food in a deserted tunnel in the Underdark? It must've been the food. It was drugged, or something. Must've been."

"What? They... they seemed like brothers! What is going on down here?" Ezraen looks at him critically, "Could it have been another trick by Buppido? An illusion?"

The half-drow thinks for a moment, "We have experienced some instability ourselves, but I just chalked it up to the extra stress. You don't think that there might be some external force spreading this madness, do you? Could that even be possible?"

OOC: you can continue with the RP...just keeping things moving while I have time to post...

You move away from the area and find a new place to rest. Shuushar thinks it should be safe. He tells you that you are within just a couple days travel of Sloobludop. As you get close you will have to descend a narrow path along a ledge into the area near the settlement. It is a few miles long and in some places it is only a few inches wide. It should be safe as long as nothing is attacking you.

You are able to rest for several hours and eventually are feeling quite refreshed despite the encounter with the strange creature the day before. You begin to feel actually somewhat upbeat but then you realize that kuo toa have a reputation for slavery and cruelty that is in many ways just as bad as the drow and in someways even more alien. You could be walking into an entirely new doom.

OOC: Oh, I must have misread, I thought it was a couple of HOURS! :p

Ezraen, upon hearing of the reputation of the kuo toa, "Shuushar, what do you think the chances are that we will be able to make our way through Sloopbludop without incident? Would we be able to borrow a boat and make our way across the Darklake? That's what it is called, right?"

Shuushar is unsure. He is a bit of an outcast and the kuo toa normally would leave him alone. But lately he has run into some that seemed a bit more hostile. They are typically cowardly and unlikely to attack a group this large. They do excel in guiding those who can pay through the Darklake and can provide a boat or two if they are motivated to do so.
