Pathfinder 1E [IC] Way of the Wicked

Piston Honda

First Post
Skalis approaches Blackerly, kicking Blackerly's sword and shield away from him before resting the blade of his own sword on the sergeant's shoulder. He looks at his own arm, where Blackerly branded the mark of the forsaken on him and edges the blade against his neck.

"If you want to leave here alive, you better give us something better than that."

Armides is more than happy to stand back and let Silhouette and Vordahl take care of questioning or torturing Blackerly. Instead, he'll go to the other guards and take anything of immediate use from them then make sure they are dead.

It is quickly apparent to all that Blackerly is just trying to save his own skin. He offers little in the way of real knowledge, most of which you already found out from the charmed guard. He does offer one bit of information that you did not already have. The password is "Hesterfield”. Apparently it didn't dawn on the guard that you might need that information. He also informs you that the password is changed weekly and it is midweek at the moment.

When Blackerly starts to repeat himself, Silhouette nods and shushes him, then walks away a couple of steps and says, "All right then. A promise is a promise. Skalis, release the sergeant."

She pauses then adds, "In whatever way you deem appropriate."

Death, of course, is the ultimate release.

Armides checks the two guards for equipment while Skalis and Silhouette question Blackerly. The guards are equipped like the others were: chain shirt, heavy steel shield, longsword, leather club, longbow, 20 arrows and key. Once you get that far, Blackerly has the following equipment: potion, chainmail, nice longsword, sergeant’s uniform, 30 gp and key ring.

Vordahl nods to Silhouette. Slowly bringing the sword away from Blackerly's neck.

"If I had my way Blackerly, you too would be branded with the same mark as we have. Over and over again."

He pauses, hoping to see the reaction on Blackerly's face for a moment of contentedness. Then he delivers a vicious blow across his neck.

[sblock=action]If coup de grace, damage = 24. If a regular attack, 16 to hit, 12 damage.[/sblock]

With a simple swing of his sword Vordahl seems to have dropped Blackerly and can easily make sure he never gets back up.

Armides glances over as Vordahl dispatches Blackerly.

"You gave him more mercy than I would have. And, hey, looks like you'll be able to get back into uniform." He smirks and goes back to his looting.

It takes a bit to wrangle the body of the guard out of the chain shirt but once accomplished Armides looks at the armor with pleasure and slips it on and adjusts the straps until it fits right. He'll take up the extra arrows and the key putting it with the others.

Silhouette nods to herself, trying to think things through.

"All right, good. We got Blackerly out of the way early, which is close to an ideal situation. Now we just have to mop up in here so that we can work out our escape route without worrying about when the guards will find us."

She turns around to survey the carnage.

"We'll hit the barracks first. Humans first, then Grumblejack. Grumble, you can strike over their heads, and they'll make sure no one gets close enough to you to hurt you more. I'll focus on anyone who looks to be using crossbows or archery."

"When we kill whoever's in the barracks, we'll go to the mess hall and repeat the performance. That should give us a free hand to decide our next move."

"We haven't the time for what I'd like to have done." Vordahl digs through Blackerly's posessions, he pulls out the potion, looking at it for a moment, obviously having no idea what it does, but the good sergeant didn't have time to show that off. "This might be worth our while if someone can tell anything about this, and this should be enough to get us out of Talingarde at least." He holds the potion up and jingles Blackerly's gold. He then drops the longsword in hand, taking Blackerly's nicer looking blade. Finally grabbing his key ring, thinking there must be somewhere Blackerly has access the common guards don't.
