Armides feels a lot safer with his bow in hand and so, he readies it. He can't see anything yet so he cast Light into the room. However, based upon Silhouette's comment, he doesn't expect the spell is powerful enough to affect the darkness in any degree. "Well, I had to try it," he mutters.
As expected light does not pierce the darkness.
Cass blinked. "I can see. There is an orb of black glass. It rests on a high table." Cass turned and stared at Silhouette, his bad eye twitching, his good eye uncertain. "Did I miss a bit of poetry, Dear Silhouette? How is it that you know all these clues? First the mold, now the orb." Cass entered the darkened room, intent on using his longsword to shatter the orb.
As he got next to the pedestal both Cass and Silhouette spot something float up from the floor. Some sort of misty something. It attacks Cass (touch attack 24; 5 damage & 1 Con damage). Then it sinks back into the floor. (Cass may now take his standard action which still can be the attack you had already rolled.)
[section]Cass coughed and sputtered as the mist enveloped him, not liking how it made him feel tired and off-kilter. He hefted his longsword and swung with his full might at the orb.[/section]
[sblock=Attack]Longsword +3 = 23 (natural 20).Rolling to confirm the critical = 14. If a critical hit, then Cass does 17 points of damage. If not a critical hit, then Cass does 9 points of damage.[/sblock]
As Cass strikes the orb it shatters and the darkness dissipates. Niles' and Armides' light now spills into the room. The light illuminates small holes in the floor spaced about two feet apart. Each hole is about one inch in diameter. The holes seem to stretch across the entire room. This room is of similar size and shape to the previous two. Their are two additional doors. One to the north and the other to the east. Both are closed.
Everyone else is up. Post in any order when you can. I will sequence the posts by initiative order.
[section]Cass re-adjusted his stance after ruining the orb. "Watch it. I think those holes in the floor put out some kind of poison air. I stepped on something in front of the pedestal and it wasn't good." The oracle trod carefully across the room, trying his best to avoid the holes in the floor. He walked to the east door and tried to open it.[/section]
