[section]Cass exhales a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. Descending the steps, Cass enters the chamber with no small degree of trepidation. The hairs on his arms raise. He skirts the perimeter of the room, starting with the section of wall furthest away from the others.[/section]

Armides Diat, human Inquisitor of Asmodeus

[section]
Armides, caught pondering the room, the traps, and the message, belatedly responds to Cass.

"I don't particularly care to step on the floor. But then, I don't particularly care for being tested, either, yet it seems it will happen anyway."

He follows the others to lend his eyes to the search. After a moment he pauses and scans the room again. "There is little here other than the stairs and archway we came through, the pit and its message, the false door, and this." Armides points towards the small oil lantern that hangs from the center of the chamber. That is where he turns his attention.

[sblock=OOC]I am notoriously bad at puzzles. Just throwing that out there.

Armides will examine the oil lantern. How does it hang from the ceiling? Rope? Chain? Does it look like it could be manipulated as a sort of device to open something? If necessary he'll use his Sift cantrip to aid his search of the ceiling.[/sblock]

Niles sighs in frustration. "Nothing else besides what we see." He glances down the pit with a visible shudder, " Of course it may just be just that . . . . ." He closes his eyes and clears his mind [cast detect magic].

If he sees nothing, His reaction is one of frustration, "let's see if we can shed some light otherwise?" he will use spark to light the lamp.

The lamp is hanging from a chain attached to the ceiling. There is nothing unusual about the lamp.

Nothing shows as magic and the lamp is already lit.

[section]Cass walks the perimeter of the chamber, making sure to use his hands to touch and feel along the walls. If nothing happens with his tactile inspection, Cass moves to the pit and peers down. With a shrug, he removes his chainshirt, dumps his pack on the floor, and carefully lowers himself down into the pit to see if there's anything to discover at the bottom or along the pit's walls.[/section]

Cass takes time to meticulously search the entire perimeter (taking 20 for a 26). He finds a secret door on the north wall and another one on the south wall.

"Well that was fruitful," Silhouette comments, "But time consuming. Remember, we're on a schedule here. Lets pick things up here."

In the interest of practicing what she preaches, she tries to open the south secret door.

Niles hands Cass his pack and chain shirt, showing camaraderie to the very one he seeks to kill, with out even know of Cass' crimes. Oh the irony of secrets.
