My house rule is adding allegiance (race, country, religion, family, guild, brotherhood, cult, clan, tribe) because groups need cooperation to survive. Even criminal societies need some rules. Powers with alignment key can hurt enemies with same alignment but different allegiance, for example a drow cleric vs a orc shaman. I also allow allegiance with opposite alignment, for example a zealot would be evil but with good alignment and a sheriff who breaks the rules would be chaotic with law allegiance.
And for me chaotic good means to be attuned to nature or primal forces. Chaotic is about behavior with people of different allegiance. For example a ninja would be chaotic because only obeys his clan, but so disciplined like a lawful monk or a sohei.
