I signed, but at this point I don't think Lucas is going to listen to anyone. I'm entirely convinced at this point he doesn't give a whit about the fans, and I'm beginning to suspect he never did.

Thanks to all that signed.... All I can say is that if it is an elaborate spam hoax, then I was fooled as well, and I DESPISE spam and thoroughly checked it out before hand.

Also, according to reports on The Force.net, the folks at Lucasfilm are keeping a close eye on this... All we can do is hope!

Last I heard (some tv interview thing with Lucas, IIRC), he is gonna release the originals on DVD sometime after Episode 3 has had its run in the theaters.

Oh, I'm sure Lucas is just teasing everyone. The originals will make it to DVD after the re-edits start to slump in sales. Above all, Lucas knows how to make money, even better than he knows how to make movies. When he senses it is time to rake in more cash, you'll see an announcment proclaiming Lucas is giving in to fan demand and giving us all this special gift. Blah.

Then again, maybe I'm a bit too cynical at this time of the day. Mmmm. Need more coffee.
