That is to say if you were to take your Real World Skills and translate those in general game terms (the ones you care to talk about and list anyways) who would that make you? You can list anything that you think makes you who you are.
(Following the "Skills", rather than trying to use an artificial system like level or rank I have simply put the number of years I was or have worked at being a particular thing. This doesn't mean I've done everything on this list consistently for that number of years, but it does mean that's how long ago I started doing these things.) I haven't listed everything I've ever done, but the ones I wanna talk about or list.
My Skills Background would run like this:
Amateur Archaeologist - 20
Amatuer Cryptologist - 30
Amateur Linguist and Philologist - 32
Amatuer Naturalist and Woodsman - most of my life, and for personal enjoyment mostly
Artist - 40 (But don't really draw or paint that much anymore and haven't for years. I turn out four or five works a year now cause I'm too busy with other things.
Businessman and Entrepreneur - 15
Christian - basically most of my life
Detective (Private) - 23
Dog Breeder - 8 (most of my experiments in breeding have gone very well)
Father - 15
Husband - 17
Inventor and Technologist - 18
Investor – 23
Musical Composer - 8 (Amateur at this point, I taught myself to play piano, which I've been doing a long time, and taught myself to compose)
Mystic - basically most of my life (Some people say that in some ways I'm a bit of a Monk, nothing wrong with that, and I seriously considered it when younger, but actually I'm more of a Mystic than a Monk. But if my wife pre-deceases me and when I'm too old to be much use as a missionary, I'll be happy to retire to a Monastery, and die there.)
Poet - 40 years (I started drawing and writing poetry in 3rd grade)
Psychologist 25 (I've practiced some form of psychology, either related to my 2nd degree, or some form of [anti] criminal psychology and criminology for that period of time)
Scientist - 35
Teacher - 20
Wargamer and Gamer - 35
Writer - 33
Vadder 36 (Explorer of ruins and sometimes archaeological sites or digs)
These are the things I intend to do and become and the skills I intend to acquire before I die (if I have the time):
Venture Capitalist
Priest
Grandfather
Multi-millionaire
Great Author and Writer (fiction, as opposed to most of my writing career, which has been non-fiction and business)
Great Poet (now I'm actively trying to get my poetry and song lyrics published)
I also intend to publish some of my Scientific Theories, Musical Compositions, Artwork, Designs, and hopefully publish a game or two.
So, who and what are you, and would you be, and if you want to discuss it in more detail then please feel free to do so.
