IH to D&D experiences?

So with the Malhavoc sale I picked up IH last night. I run and play D&D and was mostly interested in the possibility of porting over skill challenges. However there are suggestions in the back for converting over the classes and a bunch of other stuff (I'm considering the stunts and feats as well).

Any experience using the toned down conversion classes in a regular D&D game? The stunts, feats, or skill stuff?

I've been slowly porting in the stunts, new skill uses and challenges. The only problem I've had is that skills are a scarce commodity in D&D. Some classes get more mileage out of house rules than others. Fighters specifically see very little use out of the stunts mechanic. The rogue/barbarian is having a blast though (maxed out tumble jump and balance)

I'm liking the feat chains a lot and thinking about ways to use them in D&D, particularly for high level fighters.

Any thoughts on converting prereqs? Base fortitude and reflex saves come to mind as possible analogues.

Why convert them? I'd just assign classes mastery ratings a la IH. It's easy; here's one suggestion.

Barbarian: Power 9, other 7
Bard: Social 10, Theatrics 10, Finesse 8, other 7
Cleric: Lore 10, Social 9, Other 7
Druid: Lore 10, Social 8, Other 7
Fighter: Armor 10, Defense 10, Finesse 10, Power 10, Projectile 10, Tactics 10, other 7 (the fighter is *the* feat master of D&D)
Monk: Defense 9, Finesse 9, Power 9, Other 7
Paladin: Armor 9, Defense 9, Power 8, Social 8, Tactics 8, other 7
Ranger: Lore 9, Defense 8, Finesse 8, Power 8, Projectile 8, Other 7 (rangers who choose the two-weapon combat style could get Finesse 9, and those who choose archery could get Projectile 9)
Rogue: Social 10, Defense 9, Finesse 9, other 7
Sorcerer: Lore 10, Social 9, other 7
Wizard: Lore 10, Tactics 9, Other 7

The Mastery Ratings (for the most time) replaced the standard Base Attack Bonus Prerequisite for some feats. It is a bit more flexible as that, since it also allows non-combat feats.

There might be more input on this issue on the Iron Heroes website or Montes Iron Heroes Forum.

For combat feats, I would multiply the Mastery Rating by 1.5 (round down) to determine the Base Attack Bonus required. For other feats, you might choose some skills that are used as a prerequisite and make the required skill ranks 3+(1.5 x Mastery Rating). If you want to use Saving Throws (I recommend against it in the most cases, especially since the +2 head start of a good saving throw stacks on multiclassing), the formula might be 1 + (Mastery Rating).
