"I'll never get to play XYZ": your biggest regrets?

This may or may not inspire you, Eric - in our group we play a different, off-the-wall game approximately once every three months - this year and last year we've played Call of Cthulhu, Spycraft, Continuum, Arcana Unearthed, and Mutants and Masterminds, to name a few. Most of them, I've used playtesting from ENWorld Gamedays as the excuse to give them a shot, and for the most part they work. If nothing else, they give us a chance to stretch our gaming muscles and try something different.

Return to Temple of Elemental Evil. I almost ran it. But, at the time, I was the 2nd string DM (just moved to town), so I let the guy with the weekly game run it. It would be safe to say that there were some disagreements in style* between how he ran it and I would run it. Alas, my gaming group is extremely inbred (close friends), so everyone has seen most what would happen in the first six+ months of play (through the Earth Temple).

*He's not a bad DM. I played in his game for years. In this case, however, I'm not sure the module was a good fit for his style.

I'd really like to
- play/DM Trinity again
- play/DM Avdenture!
- play/DM Exalted
- play/DM Feng Shui
- play/DM the Buffy RPG

and all this seems not very likely to me for the foreseeable future :(

On the other hand, I have been gifted with a great group, so I can't really complain.

Do you do these as single sessions/adventures and have a long-run campaign that happens concurrently? Or do you run the games in serial, cycling through a game every three or so months?

I'm quite jealous, either way. It's pulling teeth just to get my group to jump from d20 to Storyteller -- both systems everyone knows and loves. Inertia seems quite potent.

I am hoping to catch up on a bunch of gaming when I am in the old folks home :)
My plans too! We should start planning now, maybe we can get a group discount, or start our own Bigby's Memorial Home for Incurable Gamers and Kings.

Never say never. That said, it's unlikely I'll ever be able to play in another Shadowrun campaign, not to mention Planescape. I have a ton of PS material - almost everything ever published - and I never got a campaign to last more than two sessions. Just too weird for most people, apparently. Required too much awareness of what's going on around you, it seems. Required critical thought at times, which some, I guess, are unwilling to do when they game.

But I'm not bitter. ;)

I don't see ever having the time to run, or the opportunity to play in any of the following:

Dragonstar
Oriental Adventures/Rokugan
Midnight
Nyambe

Thieves World is my biggest regret. I have a great gaming group filled with friends and people who love gaming. But they have zero interest in Thieves World. :(

-- a campaign in original Top Secret.
-- Empire of the Petal Throne.
-- 1e Chivalry and Sorcery
Anything newer than those, I still hold out hope of finding players for.

As an old school wargamer, I have to add several SPI monster games to the list of "regrets". Top of the list is playing the full game of Terrible Swift Sword.

Similarly, on the computer, I doubt I'll ever acquire the time to complete Gary Grigsby's Pacific War.
