I'll see your rage... and raise you one... animal companion?

As always, the answer is Bard/Druid. In this case, Wood Elf Bard/Druid into the Lyricist.

there is always this alternate Druid feature:

The druid might choose to give up her wild shape ability in exchange for becoming a swift and deadly hunter.

Gain
Bonus to Armor Class when unarmored (as monk, including Wisdom bonus to AC), fast movement (as monk), favored enemy (as ranger), swift tracker (as ranger), Track feat (as ranger).

Lose
Armor and shield proficiency, wild shape (all versions).

Oh... what is that variant called and where is it found?

UnEarthed ArCana.

It's pretty awesome.

However, I'd rather have zen archery, hide and move silently and wisdom as a bonus to both in exchange for my animal companion.

Why not exchange spellcasting, wild shape, and animal companion for non-casting stuff of equivalent value. Say:
- all warblade class features, and
- all swordsage class features, and
- all crusader class features, and
- all barbarian class features, and
- all rogue class features, and
- all fighter class features.

Oh, wait, because you still haven't got equivalent value. Hmmm.

So what you're saying is that you want an all-WIS based character instead of a DEX- and WIS-based one?

Taking Wood Elf nets you a +2 DEX and +2 STR (and a -2 Con and Int). I imagine there are +WIS races as well, but not many of them.

Zen Archery nets you a +WIS to hit, but you still need that +STR for Damage to be an effective bowcaster. But wait, doesn't DEX power hit bonus for a bow already, as well as Hide and Move silently?

The only thing WIS does for a Druid is Will saves and Max casting level... and if you're split-classing your Druid, you likely won't hit Max casting level, making WIS less useful...

I still say go Bard/Druid/Lyricist, and take the Divine Bard casting option with your Alt Druid feature. Cast Rage, and there you go.
