*Note that once you attack or do anything other than hide with your action, you are no longer hidden. You are invisible but everyone knows where you are until you use the hide action. A level (or is it two) of rogue or monk will let you use your action to attack, then bonus to hide, and then move (or not they won't know).
But a fighter hacking away, a ranger plucking away or a caster dropping spells, their location is always known unless they spend a round to hide.
*Not that you were suggesting otherwise, but sometimes people forget and think moving hides them automatically each round.
