Improved Power Shot [epic feat]

Which version of Improved Power Shot do you think makes for a better epic feat?

1. The Power Shot ability of the epic Peerless Archer adds two points of damage for every point subtracted from his attack rolls or....

2. The Power Shot ability maxes out at +20 damage, but it only costs half the normal attack penalty (ie: -5 to hit=+10 to damage.)

I'm not sure yet. I got the idea from Andy Collins (author of the ELH) when I asked him what he thought the feat progression for an epic Peerless Archer (he said every 4 levels) should be and he mentioned that some sort of "Improved Power Shot" would probably be a good idea for a class-specific epic feat.

Obviously the Power Shot class ability would be required. I'm thinking maybe Improved Critical (any bow). Its not a WOTC feat, but the "cleave" version for bows would seem to be an appropriate prereq as well, "Penetrating Shot" or whatever you'd call it. What do you think?

I think Point Blank and Precise are musts. Not Improved Crit, that would require this epic feat to be taken once for each type of bow, and I think it would be better to have it apply to all bows. Maybe there are a few Epic feats that would also work here. You might also require a minimium str and or Dex

Well....Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot are prereqs for Peerless Archer, which your character must have at least 3 levels in to get Power Shot anyway. I thought about Improved Crit only working for one bow, but I was looking at the epic melee feats Overwhelming Critical and Devastating Critical, which are the ultimate extensions of Power Attack, and naturally list Improved Critical as a prereq for each feat. If not Improved Crit, I'd be inclined to go with Uncanny Accuracy.

If we were just giving WOTC prereqs, I'd probably just say Power Shot, Uncanny Accuracy, and BAB +18.

I might opt for a door number 3.

(Particularly were there a "Penetrating Shot" or the bow equivalent to cleave.)

With Power Shot and Penetrating Shot as prereqs, Improved [epic] Power Shot would grant the nifty ability to ignore say... 5 points of DR and provide a stacking +1 bonus for the purposes of determining whether damage reduction is ignored, every time the feat was taken.

As with all things yours and your DM's mileage might vary.
