Those can all give skill bonuses in excess of +10 to jump checks, after all.

No, their durations are short enough for me to be comfortable with (I changed the duration of the first two to 1 round/level, though, just to be safe).

I think your reaction is a little excessive. Unless you are using the epic-level skill checks, there is a point of diminishing returns to most skills. I don't think your style of DMing is fun for your players, mang.

Well, we really can't be the judge of that. Just because you or I probably wouldn't have fun with those restrictions doesn't mean his players wouldn't as well.

I am a player in what I would consider a low-magic setting (there aren't magic shops on every corner, and you are often behind in magic items in terms of character level vs character wealth for that level). However, limiting Boots of Elvenkind and reducing the effectiveness on the Jump spell is too much even for our standards. But to each his own!
