In Print Fantasy Games

Lejendary Adventure (technically out of print but the books are probably still readily available) is a great game.

AFAIK, work on BE is long done. Luke & co. are working on some secret project for BWr, and I believe the MagBu is still a priority. Thankfully, there are relevant bits of it for free on their site, not to mention that you don't need really need it in order to play.

OTOH, the combat system is really hinky, and this is coming from someone who is not all that wild about detailed combat.
I'm not sure I understand. You don't like detailed combat, and are saying that BWR's system is too detailed? Or that it's not detailed enough?

FWIW, I thoroughly enjoy the combat system. One of the most unusual and innovative systems for combat I've seen.

HarnMaster 3.0 is a fantasy rpg that's in print. I really like it but have always had trouble locating willing players.

And yeah, put me down as another gamer suggesting Artesia. Freakin' amazing rpg.

WFRP is a blast. Rolemaster is wicked fun too. If your players are wholly on board, you can't go wrong with these.

Artesia looks like it could be awesome, however I can't vouch for that. I'm biased here though, as I definitely like some of the game's influences.

I've been meaning to give Burning Wheel a spin, but the time never seems to come around.

The only 'problem' that Warhammer has, is one of the ones Exalted and L5R have.

It's really designed for a specific setting and feel and mood.

But it's easy enough to run and the setting has so much flavor, that those are generally not 'bad' issues.
