In which book is the yeti in 3e?

I think yetis are Tibetan; they supposedly live in the Himalayas.

There's certainly similarities between yeti and sasquatch, IIRC, which has inspired many theories from Bigfoot enthusiasts. But lots of cultures have lots of similar critters (dragons, vampires, etc.), so it's not so surprising.

That suggests one way to handle multiple versions of the yeti -- call one "yeti", and the other "sasquatch". Not likely to be particularly true to myth, but what D&D monsters are? :)

The main difference between the three creatures, Yeti, Wendigo, and Sasquatch, seems to be setting and culture. The Sasquatch is lower Rocky Mountains (though rare spottings in the eastern US should be noted), and is of course also known as Bigfoot. Wendigo is either a man transformed or a creature empowered by cannibalism and the hunger brought on by severe winter, it is also a nativeto the Northern Rockies and upper elevations in my readings. The Yeti is from the Himalaya and like the Wendigo (but unlike the Sasquatch) is white in coloring and is tough to spot against the snowy backdrop of it's home. The relationship between these three could form the beginning of an interesting adventure idea... hmmmmm...... Do any of the EnWorlders from other parts of the world have similar myths? Perhaps in the Basque Province? The Atlas Mountains, The Andes? On the slopes of Mount Kenya or Kilimanjaro(sp?)? What about Australia or New Zealand?
