D&D 5E (2014) In which setting the next adventure path will take place?

The thing that i hope, is to stick to another Ravenloft adventure. Soth would be awesome and would wink to all Dragonlance fans. He is one of the most (in)famous characters of the setting save Raistlin who sits on the top. Azalin, originated from Greyhawk, is also very good choice.

I remember sometime is the past Mearls or someone else from Wizard, said that when they choose to publish a story the put all their effort in it to support it with every means. In our case, I hope this to last not 6 months, but a year. I would love to see a second AP in Ravenloft with a supplement at the end (a second MM with focus on undead probably?).

Having said that, I know there a slim chances to see this, but one can hope.

In any case, I would prefer a story in a different setting than Forgotten Realms. Planescape, Greyhawk, Dark Sun or something else is something i would love to see.

I dont know if this option would be received as well as you seem to believe. In Dragonlance canon, Soth never left, and he was finally redeemed during the War of Souls.

Even the 3rd Edition Ravenloft stuff didn't include him.

Isn't it canon that Soth managed to defeat the Dark Lords by being so boring they just gave up and shoved him back in Ravenloft once they realised he wasn't going to do what they wanted him to do?

I mean, I think its the best way to defeat the Dark Lords honestly

Anywho, I reckon FR then maaaaybe Planescape?

What I reckon we won't see are Greyhawk or Dark Sun. DS is popular enough to carry, but its sort of its own Thing (Sort of like Ravenloft is, thinking about it...), while Greyhawk's just a fair bit on the dull and generic side. If they're gonna go generic, they'll go with FR every time.

Yeah, I agree that they are probably going to mix things up. I do think that if Fall is Forgotten Realms again (which is a pretty good bet) that when Spring rolls around and if it is another Sword Coast FR based adventure, that there will be some level of fan disappointment. Although going elsewhere in the Realms might just create enough variety (and have a chance for another regional adventurers guide) to offset that a lot.
