Are there any spells or weapon traits that will increase a weapon's crit multiplier? In any WotC books.
There are a coupele PrCs that do. i dont have my boks right now, so i can't tell you which.

Relics and Rituals has a spell called "Assassin's Senses" that increases the critical multiplier by one and the critical threat range by one (for example, a longbow would threaten a crit on a 19-20 for a x4 multiplier with that spell active). 2nd level on both the Cleric and Wiz/Sor lists, if I'm remembering it correctly. It can only be cast on yourself, though, so it hasn't seen much use in our games.

great for multiclassed characters, though

Thats gross
Sorc1/fitghter X gets shield, true strike and can carry about a wand of this crap ? Thats silly, this spell should be at least one level higher than keen edge.

Well, Assassin's Senses has an Arcane Material Component cost of a severed finger from an assassin. If you want to carry around a whole bunch of those, go right ahead.

Anyway, it's a 2nd level Cleric spell, 3rd level Sor/Wiz spell that lasts 1 round/level. Keen Edge still has an advantage in many cases- Keen Edge doubles the range (so a Rapier would become 15-20/x2 rather than its natural 18-20/x2), but Assassin's Senses only increases it by 1 (so a Rapier would become 17-20/x3). It's powerful, but not too powerful. Considering the Scarred Lands' rules about buying and selling magic items, nobody's gonna be walking around with a Wand of Assassin's Senses unless they made it themselves.

Adding a X to a multiplier is roughly equivalent to doubling the crit range when you do the damage averageing caluculations.
Certainly with any x2 weapon, making it to x3 is equivalent to doubling the threat range assuming that any threat is a hit. If you have a number of iterative attck where a 15 would be a miss then the x3 is actually more powerful than the threat range double.

Thus this spell is more effective than keen edge AND lower level.
Escew materials feat gets about that fingers of whatever non-sense.

Don't see how it's much worse than carrying bat poo around.

The problem is getting them, not carrying them.
I bet the cityguards will probably sell them ten-at-once... if you know where to pay and the price is right. :D

And yes, the spell is ... as good as many others in that book. Nice, interesting, stylish, horribly broken.
