Initiate of Pistis Sophia

I can't make sense of one part of this class (one of my players is interested in it).

It's a 10-level PrC, but it seems to me that you couldn't take level 1 in the class until character level 13.

Sanctify Ki Strike requires Ki Strike Lawful, which a monk gets at 10th level. Then, the next feat choice would be at 12th level (which would be SKS), meaning 13th level would be the 1st level of IPS.

How, then, does one advance to levels 9 and 10 of the class? Did I miss something?

A monk with Vow of Poverty would get a bonus exalted feat at 10th level, and so could go 1-10 Monk, 11-20 Initiate of Pistis Sophia.
