Pathfinder 1E [INTEREST/RECRUIT] - Crowns of Ice

I feel like my posts aren't nearly as involved as everyone else's. Part of it is my own ignorance of the setting and culture, I suppose. It'll be much better as we get going, but I usually tend to short posts with his actions and dialogue anyway.

You'd better go find out what's in your pocket before the curiosity kills me!!!

I wouldn't worry about the posts, I'm sure as we go you'll pick it up. I don't necessarily know that much about Norse culture either, but Jon knows a ton so between Google and him, I just ask a lot of questions. lol I think your posts are fine. Frankly, I've been stressing myself out a little with making a longer post so I've got to make them shorter so I don't do that.

The only thing that's come up, is that their culture would have had no issue with land passing to a woman, so technically Alec's land would pass to Astrid with no issue. That doesn't mean someone wouldn't still be pressuring both Alec and Astrid to marry for whatever myriad of reasons and of course, if you want to stick to the our land doesn't go by that rule and it has to pass to a male heir, that's fine too. Whatever you want to do. Just wanted to bring that up. :)

I'm preparing the updates myself! I think we can proceed to the merging of two of our threads soon enough!

EDIT: two done, and I'm going to the brother's story! I'm thinking about proceeding to the attack, since you guys got enough time to work the chars a bit and we should see how they work together! What do you guys think?

EDIT2: @tglassy, I'm also counting a lot on Fenris, Queenie and Jago to get the hang of norse culture! So, no worries, heheh!

EDIT3: @Jago, how WAS PAX?

EDIT4: I've started including some info about some npcs, such as Volund, for example. If you guys want to correct anything, please give me a shout, and I'll re-write it according to your ideas. In this case, I have placed some impressions from Inge about Volund. It does not mean they are true, though. It's just the way some men chose to see him. Also, I made him part of the Muri Wars. Considering his age, the character's ages and the geography, it only made sense. As you can see, I also included some details I thought made sense for Alec's demesne. Since it is a mining area, it would be quite valuable and coveted. Alliances with Alec would be relevant, if not imperative. There are, as far as I imagined, few other options for intensive mining activity (raids might try to compensate it somehow, but with limited success).

EDIT5: sorry for the excess of edits! :p

Later!

I thought the mining thing was something you and tglassy worked out at some point - that our homeland's main moneymaker was metals - which given the silver dragon makes sense ;) Is this not true? I even referenced it in my conversation.

I think we're all ready to merge the sailing threads... how exciting! Let's do it. And maybe not kill off all those nice people you just named :p

Personally I am not a Norse buff. I just do my best, as I mentioned, I Google, or I ask Fenris or Jago and I guess it kinda looks like I know what I'm talking about lol. But Fenris is an expert expert on Norse culture and it seems Jago knows his way around it too so... you could also ask one of them if you have a question.

AB, I looked over the map and I can't really tell where Astrid and Alec's homeland is and where Grandeal (Fenris's homeland) is. Astrid's is north and Fenris's is southern, is that correct?

The mining thing was something I thought of on the spur of the moment. AB had asked how Alec's people made money, and I didn't like the idea of just being raiders. But everyone needs steel.

No, I was om VC, lol. I've been sick for two weeks, but it's been unrelated. We entered our planning weeks now, and my schedule turned a bit crazy because of this. But I'll post the updates till tomorrow night and I'll resume posting pace from then on. Sorry for the trouble, guys! And tx for the concern!
