You find a spot behind a pillar where you can watch the gnome without being observed and wait patiently. The hour grows late before the gnome finally abandons his post for the evening and heads for the nearest exit to the streets. Sedar and Bloodtalon move through the crowds with ease, never letting their eyes off their mark. The gnome seems blissfully unaware he is being followed despite stopping once to watch the street, you assume to check for anyone tailing him. Though the night seemed clear when you left Terminus Station, it begins pouring rain not 10 minutes into your trip. Here in the lower wards the water feels grimy as it picks up smoke and dirt from the upper towers before it makes its way down here. Despite the cold and discomfort, the sheets of rain helps to hide you from your target.
The gnome eventually heads for Middle Tavick's Landing. The area feels slightly safer than the lower wards that you traveled through, and infinitely safer than the Cogs. Despite the late hour and the rain patrols of the City Watch are still evident and there are guard posts throughout the area. From what you know of the city, this entire area is a hub of trade and travel. It is a crossroads of sorts, with the Cliffside docks, Terminus Station, and the Wroat gate all in proximity numerous travelers must pass through this section. The housing seems to have been better cared for and there are almost no slums or rundown areas evident. Your mark leads you to the Cornerstone district, a hub of taverns and inns for the thirsty and weary. He passes by all of the larger taverns until he reaches the far side of the district. Residences are much more common in this area. A final tavern sits at the edge of the district. It is small and shows no name, but it does display a sign out from depicting an overflowing mug (stamped with a House Ghallandra guild seal no less). The most notable feature of the tavern is a wide front porch lit by a pair of oil lamps. A handful of older gnomes are sitting at the table playing a card game. The gnome stops again when he nears the tavern to check the road behind him but seems to see nothing alarming. He then moves to the far side of the street away from the tavern and scrapes up against the stone wall, leaving a short white streak as he passes by. He continues on down the road a short distance before turning and entering one of the residences there. When you look back towards the marked wall, you notice that two of the men that were on the porch have stood up and are heading back inside the tavern.
