Invisible Blade's Uncanny Feint as a Free Action

I thought you had only had one free action per round so this shouldn't be a problem - does it work differently for feint or this ability?

You're probably thinking of Quicken Spell. :)

Apart from Quickened Spells, it's just like Patryn said.

Ah, of course - seems I have misunderestimated the IB. how did your build end up btw, Darkness? Working on a similar character (whisper gnome), looking good, will save makes me sceptical, but dervish helps.

Stats...
High Dex and good Int are the essential stats, of course. With Con in third place, to keep you alive. Wis shouldn't be a dump stat because of Will save. Acceptable dump stats are Str and Cha, even though both are quite useful (Str for dmg, Cha for Bluff) if you have the points/stats.

Classes...
At level 20, my build is a: Rog3/Swashbuckler3/Ftr2/Invisible Blade5/Dervish7
Go for Invisible Blade as soon as possible so you can feint as a free action at character level 10. I'd recommend Rog2/Swashbuckler3 since you're a whisper gnome. (If you had favored class: any, Rog1/Swashbuckler3/Ftr1 might be slightly better.)

Feats...
Assuming the above classes at level 10 (Rog2/Swashbuckler3/Invisible Blade5) and race: whisper gnome rather than human:
Combat Expertise, Dodge, Mobility, Weapon Finesse (kukri) [Swashbuckler bonus], Weapon Focus (kukri).

At level 20:
As above, plus... Greater Two-Weapon Fighting, Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, Quick Draw, Spring Attack [Dervish bonus], Two-Weapon Fighting, Whirlwind Attack.

Well, that's my current build. I'll have to experiment with a build using more Ftr levels instead of Dervish and as soon as I get CA, I'll try out what a Tempest can do for me. :)

BTW, my thread is here if you want to see some of my previous ideas, reasoning, etc.

I modified the PRC Feint ability and made it a Swift action instead of a free one, to avoid the abuse issues.

I thought about making it an Immediate action, so you could use it during an AoO, but havent play tested that yet.

curious, what others thought?

That limits it to 1 per round, a very unnecessary nerf. Not a good idea.

And what 'abuse issues?' Rogues were balanced on the idea that they get Sneak Attacks more often than not.

I'm not sure that they were put together with an eye toward sneak attacks on more than 60% of their attacks, though - it always seemed to me that they were built to rely upon either surprise or teamwork to be at their best, though.

In any event, for a IB to make a full attack barrage of sneak attacks, they have to be prepared to take full attacks in return. We've got a Ranger/Rogue in one of our campaigns that dishes out ungodly amounts of damage, but the look on the player's face when his target is still standing afterwards is pretty much priceless. I can't see it breaking a game.

When the IB gets a full two-weapon sneak attack with lingering damage in my epic game, he ends up inflicting immense damage. However, this requires that he be in melee, be able to sneak attack (sometimes feints are hard to pull off successfully, can't do it to lots of creatures, etc), be able to hit, and be able to survive a counterattack if he can't finish his enemy off quickly.
