I confess, I have always interpreted the rules in such a way that an invisible individual can see himself and the objects he carries. It isn't just a matter of the phraseology of the rules, though that is a factor, of course, as are the game's definiton of illusion and glamer. But there's the added issue that a character who couldn't see himself would find it extraordinarily difficult to function in a wide variety of circumstances, yet invisible characters never incur any penalties for being invisible, as far as I know.
