Limit Break Dancing
Hello fellow gamers!
It's about that time of the year again, when we decide to challenge our D&D writing skills against unreasonable deadlines and hard-to-please judges. There hasn't been much discussion about it in the forums, though, so I wanted to gauge some interest before I kicked off the official thread. Look back over some of the older competitions (like this one from 2019, and this one from 2018) to get a good idea of what to expect.
For a proper tournament, we need 16 participants, but 32 is best. Participants will be required to create an adventure using a short list of ingredients, on a short deadline, with a strict word count. (And I can tell you from experience, the word count is the absolute worst part.) The word count and schedule starts out pretty generous in the early rounds of the contest, but get maddeningly difficult as the finals draw closer.
We also need at least three judges, who have plenty of time to read and critique dozens of submissions from the writers.
And I'll be the emcee and referee, who will keep everyone engaged and on schedule, organize the brackets, and get everything together.
Is this something you would be interested in?
