Hey all Ironers and Ironettes!

Check it!

I am still working on that archive site. It has been slow going last few weeks because I have had a lot of "real" work to do and well, not to complain, but for as much interest as this idea always aroused no one has followed through on helping me - which is fine, but it is just gonna take longer.

Anyway, for those of you who want to look at what I have so far check out this link: http://www.matantisi.com/aquerra/IRON_DM/index.htm

There are still a bunch of broken links and there are only two tournaments archived in there so far (I am working on Incognito's Fall 2002 currently).

One of the next things I am going to work on is the "Hall of Champions", "The Contestants" and "The Judges".

So I humbly ask for anyone who has EVER taken part in an IRON DM tournament to post a short blurb about themselves for use on the site.

The guidelines are as follows:

For those who never got past the first round, 2 sentences +1 sentences per time you've tried.

For those who have gotten to the semi-final round Up to five sentences + 1 per tournment you've been in.

For those who have the title of IRON DM Go hog wild, give me a paragraph or two.

Judges: Three sentences about yourself and your own IRON DM history + an overview of your judging style. You may also submit a blurb for your history as a contestant.

Feel free to just post them in this thread, or email it to me at aquerra AT hotmail DOT com.

Thanks for your help!

P.S. The Holiday IRON DM TOURNAMENT for Newbies will be officially announced on Friday and will start on Monday the 15th - and will be taking place over at Nutkinland.

Cool site, nemm! And I'm in there too. Ah Wicht, you wascally wabbit. That brings back some memories. I'll work up something for you soon, nemm...

Looking good, nemm.

A couple of the links appear to be reversed (spring 2002, R2M1 and R2M2).

Here's my blurb:

Wulf Ratbane has participated in a handful of Iron DM contests. Wulf has never lost a first round competition, but until the Fall 2003 contest, he'd never once managed to get past the second round. His championship run in Fall 2003 produced some of his best entries, but it was a bittersweet victory: Wulf prefers to play the underdog. It's a style that carries over to his Iron DM entries-- open-ended, morally ambiguous adventures where a "victory" for the PCs is not so much to do good, but simply to emerge from the adventure less evil than their adversaries.

Impeesa was a random passerby who enthusiastically signed up for the very first Iron DM tournament ever, only to receive a harsh beating at the hands of the eventual champion in the first round. Not easily discouraged, he disappeared and was never seen around an Iron DM thread again.

:D

Nifft likes these contests because he is very creative, but lacks an attention span. Thus, the 24 hour limit is more boon than bane to him. He's not sure how many contests he's been in, but he thinks he got to Round 2 once. Nifft gets freaked out when forced to talk about himself in the 3rd person.

ETA: Wow, I guess you can see that it's late from my flawless spelling, eh? :) It should read: "Just to say that I hope to get a spot even though now, I go to bed".
