Iron Heroes: Twilight of Ulster (1:30-5:30 PM) 1 SLOT REMAINS

Damn...decisions, decisions...they both sound mighty tempting. Since I will just be coming off of NPCing a bunch of Saxon berserkers...I might as well stay with character in Forgall :D!

Sure thing. In case the Celtic terminology is unfamiliar (not sure if you've studied Celtic stuff to prepare for the Arthurian game or not--seems to have more of a Germanic influence with all those Saxons to kill and Wodan involved, and I think I saw names from Bede's Saxonocentric Ecclesiastic History of England in the intro), the Riastradh is a Warp-Spasm, which is the traditional Celtic Berserker Frenzy. The Berserker's bones warp and twist as he enters a frenzy that is mighty to behold and often difficult to end (one bearer of the Riastradh had to be bathed by one hundred naked virgins while still in his frenzy before it would end :eek: )

Forgall and Aoife could definitely be an interesting pair to RP in the adventure too--Aoife has a beef with Forgall's mother.

I will study up on the Celtic lore a bit more, just to make the Saxon-to-Celtic switch. Mmmm...one hundred naked virgins...sounds good ;)!

Yeah, Forgall isn't quite there yet. His Riastradh ends when he runs out of Fury tokens :D :lol:

Everyone will be completely okay without reading anything about Celtic stuff--in fact, I expect none. I just didn't want to start lecturing if you already knew it, since you were running an Arthurian game ;)

I'm pretty sure being bathed by one hundred naked virgins would NOT calm me down.

:)

And here's Forgall:

[SBLOCK=Forgall]Forgall, Young Warrior of Lusk

Personality: Forgall vacillates between being fearless, brave, and a bastion of strength in battle and uncertain, awestruck, naïve, and a bit shy in some social situations. Eager to prove himself, Forgall exults in battle even without the mighty Riastradh. When in its throes, it is almost impossible to stop him without letting it run its course.

Appearance: Forgall is not remarkably tall, but he is muscular and handsome. His hair is a bit unusual, ranging from brown near his skin to red in the middle, and finally to golden blond at the tips of the curly locks that fall between his shoulders. His left hand, which sometimes carries a dark crimson shield with a rim of white silver but often helps hold his axe, has six fingers, though it is not immediately noticable. Perhaps more striking are the two pupils in each blue eye.

When he enters the riastradh, his legs shift almost inside out, muscles bulging like clenched fists, one eye shifts inward sunken in his face while the other protrudes outward, and his mouth wists awry and expands to meet his ears.

Background: The son of Lady Emer of the Beautiful Hair, Forgall has inherited the might of the riastradh from his father. Training as a warrior from a young age, he is still young, but his body is unusually mature for his age. He hopes one day to be a mighty warrior in the service of Ulster, like his father before him, and as he travels on behalf of himself and his mother to pay his respects at his father's wake, perhaps he will find the chance that he seeks...

His appearance shifts as described above, and as his bones and muscles rearrange, they protect the most vulnerable parts of his body. He gains a +2 Natural Armour bonus to Defense)

If you can peek at a friend's copy of the book to figure out what the abilities you don't know do, that would be cool--otherwise I could e-mail (or eventually PM when they get my CS account back up) short descriptions to you, since it wouldn't be right to post them up here :)

I will try to snake a copy in the next week or so. Barring that...I may just buy the pdf.

Also, I have an open spot in my Grim Tales/Mythic Heroes game. It is yours if you want it! Just swing by and claim it...

Yay! I have the PDF and the book. Is it legal for me to send you the PDF if you already bought the book and it is coming in the mail? Because I'll send it, but only if it's legal--I want Mike and Monte to see all the money they deserve on their product.
