My cable which includes my internet connection went out last night. I was not able to get on-line. I am sorry for the wait I will post the ingredients and the critiques when I get home from work.

Straight to judging

Originality: Well any gnome paladin has to show some originality in order to show believability, and you’ve done that masterfully. Leaving much to allusion but handling that well with the story. He is a third level paladin because he has been training under a paladin for years, who just happens to have retired as a dog herder. So we have a you gnomish paladin adventuring to fight evil in it’s many forms with a particular hatred of kobolds who is looking to get back into the good graces of his village, excellent job. Points awarded 3.

Playability: The character has a personality, he’s friendly takes a joke well and is good with animals. He has a hatred of evil because evil has bested him. He has a particular hatred of kobolds. He has a mission, be an excellent paladin and maybe one day you’ll get back into the good graces of your village. He is adventuring because he has no home due to being convicted. Great job points awarded 4.

Use of the Ingredients: The stats sucked and you used that to give him personality and even as the hook into his profession. The scroll of fireball was used as a key element in the character’s betrayal. He is the convict. He was given a shield of bashing by his mentor. Great job, every ingredient is an integral part of the character. Points awarded 5.

Ajanders Round I Critique

Originality: A paladin who uses the tools of evil against it, interesting concept and I do not believe that I’ve ever seen this one before. A “paladin of ironic justice”, what better part for a paladin gnome? I also liked the way that his minuscule strength is used to define the type of paladin he is. The paladin trap maker who steals from thieves very interesting concept, and befitting logic for a paladin of Garl Glittergold. Very original character points awarded 5.

Playability: Actually this guy is more playable then most standard paladins. I have always found the paladin boring, vanquish evil by sword and spell. This guy however says vanquish evil by allowing it to consume itself. I can see him taking a couple levels of rogue somewhere along the way as well. The rogue paladin, it’s a great concept I’d like to play the guy myself. Points awarded 4.

Use of the Ingredients: Well the convicts are those he brings to justice, a bit weak usage for a paladin. It was too obvious to use this. The scroll of fireball being sold by an adversary could have been boring, but having Pyerete misread the spell and barely survive, you made this integral and interesting. He has a shield of bashing but it’s almost never used as that, great idea using a magical item to expose his gnomish heritage. I just got a mental image of him sledding into battle on a shield of bashing. Points awarded 4.

Acceptance of new challenge

Domo Arigato, Drawmack-san.
I felt some strong competition there from the most respectable Dog Warrior.
I'd almost play that as my next character, but I'm coming off a paladin as is.
