D&D 5E Ironfang Invasion 5E conversion (OOC)

Yeah, this is pretty rough. I don't think getting the stump remover below the bridge on this side of the river helps, though. It would just leave Flint (and whoever else was still on this side) stranded once the bridge was gone.

So we really need to get them to abandon their post and chase us around the building so we can cross. Hopefully goblin stupidity outweighs hobgoblin discipline.

We'll have to get our shots in where we can but we have to play this maximum defensive. I drop if I get shot by that crossbow even once.

OK so the plan has changed to a game of cat and mouse around the building and try to draw them out.

Concentrate ranged attacks on the one with the crossbow?

I do still have 1 point of Lay on Hands left but that isn't good for much other than getting someone up if they drop.

Save it, then. Maybe we can waste their damage with them overkilling us! :)

Yeah, we can try and take out that guy while we are at it.

Any objections? Alternate plans?

A few questions:

Is there anything around we could use to charge them with if it came to that? Like a cart?

Are the trees we see on the map big enough to provide full cover or any?

The bunch of trees in the SWish corner would provide 3/4 cover for up to three people for ranged attacks.

The solo tree would provide one person 3/4 cover from ranged attacks.

The building itself provides cover as well.

At the top of the map around 3 squares off the map to the left, a is a broken crane. The crane itself doesn't work but it does have wheels and is 20 feet long by 7 feet wide, any one behind it would have cover, (assuming the crossbow wielding Hobgoblin's on the far side of the bridge don't go too wide) it has bars on the side to help push, those and the wheels would provide partial cover.

The crane also has around 200 feet of thick rope.

I mean I'm pretty sure it's a horrible idea... BUT I seem to be stuck on it, and if it works it could be epic.

The idea would be simply to push through, ditching the crane once we cross, if it knocks enough of them into the water then we off the rest and blow the bridge... If we get through and they are still on the bridge... run?
