D&D 5E Ironfang Invasion 5E conversion (OOC)

I figured it was deliberate, as in: try to find a way through without direct confrontation.

And we just might, if nobody (Flint) does anything stupid. [emoji16]

what about people using the Disengage action to get through the bridge section without drawing attacks of opportunity from the guards?

That would get everyone over on our action and then leg it for the woods. The bridge guards might not follow depending on their orders regarding the bridge?

Thoughts?

Sounds alright. In that case, Flint can be the last one, casting Thunderwave between the enemies (possibly knocking some off the bridge and possibly having some wild magic shenanigans) so if he blows himself up, so will the bridge go up in a bang. [emoji1]

@eayres33 Actually, Thank you for the challenge. It's a bit overwhelming now, but you are giving us plenty of leeway to talk it out, OOC and no one ever remembers the easy encounters anyway.

Looks like we have managed to mostly draw them off the bridge. That puts the crane charge out of play.

They are as fast as we are. The fact that they are coming off the bridge means the Goblins would chase us, I don't think the Hobgoblins would chase us far since they don't seem as eager to leave their posts. Maybe we try to knock them off their feet and run away?

So make a run for it?

Question for the DM - Where is the door to the building?

I agree with just booking it across the bridge, River.

Reactions Slippery. If an attack on the hill goblin champion misses, it moves 5 feet away without provoking an opportunity attack.

Vin's second attack missed. So it looks like both he and Corsa can make a run for it right now without taking opp attacks, since G1 should now have backed up 5 feet.

It was meant to be a challenge, and I wanted it hard, its just a little harder than what I had hoped for. But it should be good I've caused a little distraction to bring it back to around the level I wanted it to be at and to by you a little time.

The door is right in front of where Vin ended the last round and 5ft south of H4.

This would be correct no OA from G1 as he would have backed up 5 feet

Shoot, ok. Now I'm kind of confused.

Since both Raux and River hit G1, and the hobs got distracted, I went ahead and threw a dagger at G1 (and hit). It seemed like we were going to stay and fight G1 and the building hob, since the fight just became more feasible. G1 has been hit for 14 of 33 hp.

But now Fog Cloud. I haven't decided where to move yet. Is everyone going for the bridge? Or staying to fight, since there are only two enemies now?

I'm leaning toward backing up and fighting for a round or two, till those hobs move off the far side of the bridge. Their opp attacks alone could be deadly, and we can't avoid taking them on the bridge.

I'm torn, too. The Fog Cloud is a good idea, actually, but I'm not sure what Flint should do now. He's almost at the bridge, convinced the goblins haven't seen him (which they almost certainly have) but he cannot blow up the bridge before we're all on the other side. But it makes no sense to suddenly have him linger at the river's edge, either...
