D&D 5E (2014) Ironfang Invasion 5E conversion (OOC)

The fact that they only get one is a good point, since Loosh goes dead last in init. As long as one of the townie NPCs or someone moves first, Loosh should be good to go.

Hopefully we can all make it and get this insane fight behind us. @.@

Ok, but you chose to spend this round attacking instead of getting across.

Are you out of spell slots? Can you not Healing Word yourself and take the OA? Edit: Nevermind, I see you used your BA on the 2nd attack.

Regardless, it's not up to me. Flint's the one with the stump remover.
I didn't choose to do that. There was no way for me to cross without provoking ops or winding up in melee with a hobgoblin. Neither of those were good options.

I am out of spell slots. I healed Lal and cast the fog. Which stopped most of us from getting attacked.

I hadn't considered them only having ranged weapons, though. Disengage doesn't give you any extra movement. Nor does dodge. And I need to go more tgan 60 feet to get past any of them

I should point out as well that I am trying to protect NPCs. It hardly seems right to leave them and run. Looks like I should have waited to post seeing as I go last anyway.

And I never knew that grapple trick was possible. In fact, I don't entirely understand how you did it. Wouldn't you have provoked ops? Wouldn't your movement be halved once you have him grappled?

At any rate, It hardly looked like I was anywhere near going to be last off the bridge when I chose to attack. I've been trying to get everyone across and get out of there the whole time!

Can I "straddle the line"

My thought is to take the AoO from the Goblin and try to run straight down the line, between the party and H1 trying to provoke his AoO and effectively clear the way for the rest of the group to get past him. If not... Give me a few minutes to decide how desperate Harb is to save people vs endangering himself LOL

Grappled creatures don't take OAs for being pulled out of reach. A grapple roll is contested--if the other party *wants* to contest it. If it was something people were using constantly as cheese to get out of reach as opposed to a one-off to yank a friend out of a really, really bad situation, I'd expect the DM to squash it.

But you're correct that I goofed--I was looking at moving in a straight line. I didn't see H1 in the path, because I missed the "1" (playing on my phone) and thought that was Harb. :( By the time Corsa goes, his OA will likely be gone, given how many people are adjacent to him, but I still can't move through his square. Will have to reconsider. Looks like we've got another round anyway.

I got the part about the grapple... it was the movement I couldn't grok. Not seeing H1 explains why you didn't see how trapped I felt, too.

All right, let's get out of here asap!

Alright, since I need to change my action: eayres, if I was able to shove one of those crossbowmen, is the guardrail or whatnot high enough that it would stop them from falling? Or would they be going for a swim?

My odds aren't great, but it would make a big difference if we could be spared two of those bolts on their turn...
