OOC: Knight Otu I'm very sorry but I had to study a lot and couldn't post before. Feel free to edit your post before if you want. :o

Shinjo Shono bows before his opponent and tries to concentrate at his best. When the judge gives his sign, he draws his katana leaping forward like a tiger. Many people say that a Unicorn is a very poor warrior when he's off his horse. They say that because they never fought one. During their travels outside Rokugan they had the opportunity to see very different combat styles and to learn unconventional techniques. One of them, that truly surprises an unprepared opponent, is the Shinjo's Parry. Shono seems to go for Tsukune's mon, but at the last instant he strikes instead her katana, hoping to catch her off guard the time necessary to tear the red and orange mon of the Phoenix.

Role-playing post

Sanctus Togashi, under the guise of Togashi Samanosuke, stands before the kami and the clans this day.

"You sir, have good taste, and I don't wish to sully it too much. Bow out, and I'll be able to avoid damaging your taste."

He knows full well his opponent would never bow out, he just wanted to give his enemy the confidence that Samanosuke was an over-confident fighter.

"I won't stand for you to win without harming me... and so you must."

Samanosuke follows all the given rituals, but doesn't stop there. He pretends to be completely afraid of his opponent to the judges, staying as far away, and avoiding eye contact. "Silver tongues and wicked lives make the man crave water." Sanctus proceeds to mock his opponent, with bad poems and riddles, truly trying to force his opponent's character out. "I'm not so solemn you see, I seek a touch of emotion from you."

Strategy Post

Sanctus strategy is to stealfully manuever himself so that he is unnoticingly able to get wounded by his opponent. He tries to some difficulty to use his speed of mind and body to avoid all transgressions that would score points, hoping to bait his enemy into directly harming his body. Stealth, Charisma, Speed, Willpower, and Strength all formulate into Sanctus' (Samanosuke's) plan. After being wounded, Togashi attempts to "show benefit of the doubt to my opponent" by allowing the match to continue after he is wounded. Then, when the moment comes, Sanctus will let his sword slide accross the chest of his falsely dishonored opponent.

Matsu Nimuro strategy and rp-post

Matsu Nimuro advances carefully, slowly, towards his opponent. He is, after all, an old man. At least that is the impression he tries to present. All the signs are there, but subtle so that only someone as perceptive and close as his opponent could notice them. His gait is stiff, his sword trembles ever so slightly, his breathing seems slightly more difficult than it should be. An old man, once a great warrior but now past his prime. A proud lion, but a toothless one.
He answers his opponents quips with a stony silence, advances and raises his sword to attack, his leathery face giving no hint as to where the blow shall land. And then, with a mighty roar that thunders across the plain he strikes, fast as lightning, against the chest of his opponent. Just as the katana is about to slice into the heart of Togashi he changes the direction of his attack and brings the full force of the strike against the blade of the Dragon, to sunder his weapon.
When Togashi has been disarmed it should be a simple matter to fininsh the duel.

Strategy:
1) Deception, to make his overproud opponent underestimate him.
2) Battlecry, to, hopefully shock Togashi and unbalance him.
3) Attack, in such a way that the opponent reflexively fears for his life, to intimidate and unbalance him. A feint to leave him open for the true attack.
4) Sunder, using the appropriate feats, to make his opponent unable to continue the duel.

Roleplaying and tactics post:

Kakita Kaiten approaches his opponent and bows.

"I wish you good luck, you shall need it." he says.

I thought that though they were somewhat unpredictable their clan had good intentions. Bah! I will never allow a Fox to take the place of Emerald Champion! How does provoking conflict keep the Empire stable?

Kaiten appears subtelly over-confident, making his opponent think he underestimates him.

When the fight begins his blade moves in an arc directly toward his opponents mon, but the arc will suddenly curve sharper and the blow shall be brought hard into his opponents blade in an attempt to unbalance his opponent. Should it be required he shall strike his opponent's weapon another time before flicking the blade in another direction so as to remove his mon.

Roleplay Post:

Wilja walks forward and bows. An almost foxish look is in her eye and her smile is disturbingly cunning. She carries a sword in each hand, a Katana in one, a wakishizi in the other.

"Greetings, Kakita-san, I regret that it comes to this, for though I respect your skill I must win this battle. "

With that Wilja moves forward immediately and makes a feint at Kakita's mon but the strike is only to throw him off-balance. Wilja seems more interested in fighting defensively using the second blade as a shield and mainly using the first blade as a defense, while she studies her opponent and dodges around the battlefield with a fox's speed, looking for a moment of weakness in her skilled opponent. When she spots it she moves forward and strikes at her opponents mon with both blades.

Strategy Post:
Wilja fights defensively using Expertise in the first round, assessing her opponent. In the second round she attacks with both weapons targeting her opponents mon. If she sees an opening in either round she will take it aware that her opponent is a better melee fighter than she is.
