(IRR) Turn 1: The Emerald Contest

Shinjo Shono
vs
Shiba Tsukune

The two fighters are appropriately formal, and they treat each other honorably. The fighters draw their blades, and in a single quick strike the fight ends in favor of Shiba Tsukune, who wasn't able to strike well against the shinjo parry -but his strike was more directed than his Unicorn opponent.

(Strategy went to Lichtenhart, but the RP points just nicked Knight Otu 1 point ahead, and even that was barely. I made the RP round worth an extra point for this round.)

Kitsune Wiljia
vs
Kakita Kaiten

Wiljia tries to defend with the blade of her weapon, but finds that her weapon becomes unable to cope with the enemies force. Unexpectedly, she can't quite block the second strike, which just grazes the mon.

This round went to Kakita Kaiten. Wiljia seemed more fluid -but slightly unemotional about the contest. I think Kaiten's motivation was stronger, and was channeled better between RP and strategy.

Shono bows to his opponent who proved to be superior, then he leaves the battlefield, goes for his horse and ride away seeking comfort in the wind.

Ooc: Congratulations Knight Otu and Festy Dog! I hope my candidate ends up fighting yours. I guess I'll have to wait for WR to judge mine and Creamsteak's duel. Though I would trust Creamsteak to judge fairly I understand that it might be an uncomfortable choice to have to make.

Lichtenhart and Kalanyr judged

Togashi Samanosuke (Sanctus)
vs
Matsu Nimuro

The entire audience gasp as the old warrior shout his war cry and make a thrust toward the heart of the young Dragon bushi. Samanosuke is ready to receive the slash, but is utterly surprised when the Lion general shifts his weight and strike his katana instead. The base of the hilt crashes as the more experienced warrior triumphs.

The kami indeed favored the more focused and more respectful candidate.

Kaiten bows to his opponent.

"Being bettered by others is a part of the process of bettering one's self. Do not be dismayed, there will always be other opportunities."

Matsu Nimuro bows respectfully to Samanosuke, "You show great potential, Dragon, you are quick and strong and I am fortunate to have defeated you."
His face is as composed as ever but on the inside he is jubilant, he had been far from certain he would go this far and though the hardest part of the test is still before him he is optimistic regarding his chances.

Alright, we are ready to move on to round 2.

It's slightly annoying that two fighters went unresolved, so I'm either going to be forced to give someone a free-pass to the finals (they defeat the winner of the unresolved fight), or something else...

I'll roll a 6 sider then (I hate to do this, but I want to wrap up this turn)...

Knight Otu 1-2
Festy Dog 3-4
Serpenteye 5-6

Festy Dog, I rolled a 3, I am passing you on and assuming the winner of the unposted match was defeated by you.

Serpenteyes and Knight Otu are all that remains to be decided before the final battle...
