Is anyone sticking with 3.5?

I'll certainly be sticking with 3.5. I might pick up Pathfinder, but I'm worried about how back-compatible it'll really be, based on the Alpha Playtests. I want it to be able to conform to my 3.5 game, not the other way around.

True 20 continues to intrigue me (thanks, Bento!), even though I haven't actually purchased any of it yet.

And I haven't even taken a look at Pathfinder.

My group is 3.5 and we're investigating a move over to Pathfinder RPG as things settle down in August with the Beta in publication.

If I ever get a second game going (not likely) or convince my current group to take a little break, I'd like to do some CoC/True20. I read some of Jim Hague's description of his Global Frequency game using True20 and it sounded like fun!

Since there's talk of True20 being thrown around, I'd just like to quickly mention that my new space opera setting, Reign of Discordia, is goijng to be released either late this month or early next month, and it will be exclusively for True20.

Yes, because I think 3.5 works really very well. There are a few things I would change in 3.5, but both Pathfinder and 4E are making waaaayyyy more changes than I think are needed, and few of them for the better.

You summed up my basic sentiment as well. I'll be sticking with 3.5 for at least the first year or two 4E is out. Probably longer than that. And even when I try out 4e, I'll still likely be playing mainly 3E, since I have so many books/ongoing groups/ongoing campaigns based around it. Also, my massive file of houserules, 5 years in the making, is about 90%complete. I'd like to actually put them all to use in a game!

I'll have to see what the situation is when 4e comes out. Even if I can't stand it at all (doesn't seem likely), there's several ideas that I'll probably find someway of shoehorning back into 3e.

I'll be sticking with 3.5, 1E and BECMI/RC for my D&D needs. In truth, it's a bit of a relief to not have to keep up with new releases from WoTC. Now my money will go to keeping up with Mutants and Masterminds, Serenity, BSG and filling in gaps in my existing collection.

As it stands know, I could never buy another game book again and still have enough material to last the rest of my life.

4E holds slightly less interest to me than invasive penile surgery.

Mind you, if the question is even partly 'is anyone not adopting 4e', well that'd be me and mine, without a doubt. Plus, all the gamers I'm aware of in the local and extended area.

One thing is nearly certain: M&M 2e will continue to be a part of the gaming landscape here. True20 could also be. Something more rules-light for the occasional ad hoc campaign, or one shot (narrowing down the options there.) And maybe, well probably, some D&D. Whether it's house-ruled 3e, house-ruled Pathfinder, or some other kind, time will tell.

I was just debating that this week - whether to continue with my 3.5 Freeport/Eberron campaign or switch to trying the Pathfinder RPG (no plans for 4E at this point other than perhaps picking up Keep on the Shadowfell and giving it a test with the quick play rules sometime down the road).

In the end I decided to stick with the Freeport game (and 3.5) for a little bit longer, but for the next game after than in a couple of months it will probably be a Pathfinder RPG trial (either alpha 3 or the beta rules depending on timing). If my players don't enjoy Pathfinder, we'll probably switch back to 3.5.

We'll be sticking with 3.5 for a while yet. We're presently having a break from the normal campaign as one of the player's is running Expedition to Castle Ravenloft. After this, we'll return to the main campaign, which will probably take us a year plus - so there's probably eighteen months to 2 years of playing 3.5 right there.

After that, I'll have a look a Pathfinder, which I'm presently finding very good (though haven't read all the rules yet) - though it's likely I'll play some bastardized version.

Like so many others, I have too much invested in 3.5 just to throw it away because a new version is coming out and actually want to run/use the vast majority of stuff I've purchased. We also enjoy the 3.5 mechanics on the whole and there's no great impetus for change in our group.

I plan on staying with 3.5. I see 4E as the wrong direction for the game to go in.
